yeah the concept and pieces are artwork themselves...and the image is great. it looks a bit muted though...probably because of the background. But twilight is looking more and more intriguing. I dont see myself switching from vray because of it multi-platform use but it is looking like a tempting solution for Sketchup renderings. Good work

RE: Church Interiors & Exterior Update
Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah Teo, I was worried about that in the second image...I assume you are primarily referring to that one correct? I think I need to work on getting past wanting to see more of the scene in one single view....Its a bad habit of mine that I think is fed by working in an architecture office...everyone is always pushing, "I want to see more of the space" and I as well get caught up in wanting to understand most of the space in one shot. Good observation, I appreciate the helpful criticism.

Church Interiors & Exterior Update
Here are a few interior shots that I have been working one and an update of the exterior night shot. I wanted to update the exterior, because the grass in my previous image was just not working, but I am much happier with the results in this image. I used sketchup for all of the modeling and then imported into max to render with vray. Comments and questions are welcome as always and I hope everyone likes the images.

RE: Amazing and Inspiring 3D Renders
I had the opportunity to speak with a few of the guys at Neoscape, and not to plug them too much, but they really have some stunning work. I wish they would upload some more of their work, because in their office, they had so many other illustrations that we just mind blowing, but I guess the clients have prevented them from doing so. I got to see a few of their current projects, and "my god". Anyways here are a few companies that do some great work as well:

RE: VRay Memory Failure
I had a similar problem in both SU and 3ds Max when trying to render certain animations and scenes with large areas of Displacement.
Try this link (http://vray.us/vray_documentation/vray_troubleshooting.shtml) and check out the part about the 3gb switch in your boot.ini file in the "excessive memory usage while rendering" section. The tech guy at my office changed this for me since I am running a 32 bit system currently and I am pretty sure it solved those problems as my renderings are all working now. Hope this helps.

RE: SketchUp 7.1?
Ok how do I go about updating this...I tried the "check for updates" option within SU and it say that I already have the lates version, but I am still running version 6. Then I went to the website and cant find anything about a free update. It is free to go from 6 to 7.1 right?

RE: SketchUp 7.1?
very good news to wake up to. It is a step in the right direction and hopefully it is a sign of things to come. Lets see how SU likes some xfrog trees now.

RE: G-20 In Pittsburgh...Should I be scared?
I hope to avoid all of it, but I just hope these people dont look at our building and act like idiots and see that it was an old bank and start doing shit. Its crazy but I cant help but expect and prepare for the worst.

RE: G-20 In Pittsburgh...Should I be scared?
I would like to take off but I dont know if I would protest. I support the movement for changing things, but then I dont completely agree with everything else being said and the ways that people go about it. I just want to see my city make it out of this safe and sound.
Protests are fine, but there are a lot of sick people out there that jsut look at this as an opportunity to cause riots and damage without even knowing what it is for...too many uneducated people just going a long with the whole "lets make a change" without even knowing what it is really about. Not to mention and threats of terrorism...it may be going a bit extreme, but you cant help but fear that these days -
G-20 In Pittsburgh...Should I be scared?
So I know there are a lot of people from all over the world that visit this forum daily and I have a question that may seem a bit random....but has anyone personally experienced the events at any of the these g-20, g-8, etc.. events? I ask, because I live in Pittsburgh and work right by the city where protests are already scheduled to be held. Should I be a little fearful? I must also add that our office is in a renovated bank. Oh my, Im starting to scare myself. I have just been researching what some of these protestors have done in the past and I must admit that I am a little bit worried to go into work Thursday and Friday. Honestly, I am worried to even be in the city. Part of me feels like it is an honor to have my home town hosting this, and it really says a lot about where we are in all of this economical mess and where we are heading, but we are not the biggest city by any stretch of the imagination, and I am worried about that damage that can be done. Does anyone have any personal insight or general feelings about this. I am just trying to find out as much as I can, to prepare myself for the rest of this week.

RE: Recent renders
pete...the exteriors are awesome. Is all of that vegetation standard in vue or do you purchase external packages and bring them in. But they really are stunning. The interiors are very nice too, but I agree with most of the previously mentioned critiques. Just too muted. Having any luck with vray yet?
