Nick, Would you have any of your scrapbooks publicly available? Seems like you've developed a nicely organized set. Beautiful work. Mark

Thanks! It is not complicated at all. My layer setup is very simple: The Section line work reference goes on a layer I name RCP linework (modify for type of drawing) SU reference goes on a layer named SU Reference The grids are on a layer called grids The notation is all on one layer called notation. You can add more as needed, but isolating these individual layers is what you see on the RCP above. You then position the layers in order of visibilty and lock as needed. I typically keep all reference layers locked and only unlock to update. As for model scenes, they are just each section or plan view saved as a separate scene. For plans that require many sections, I will typically create a separate SU file and reference in the base model. This way you don't end up with 15 section planes in a given model. So far so good on this method. Rendering time is pretty much instant for both the raster and vector linework. I have used this method now for all my plans, reflected ceiling plans and building sections. It works great!

I've never come across this...but frequently come across the opposite...edges unsoftening. From comments here, it seems to be the same cause...an object being left selected for a while, while you're busy with other stuff. It usually happens if I copy/paste from one file to another and forget to immediately deselect the geometry in the intial file after copying. It doesn't need the soften edges dialog open; that's not involved if you are merely opening a file to copy a section of it. The mere action of leaving an object selected is enough.

These would be plans for the architectural review committee, so accuracy of scale is very important. I am not changing sheet sizes at all. They are still D size. I was hoping for a simple setting in preferences, but I do not see any. Currently my work flow goes like this to achieve the scale change. After I set it up once, my other project went really fast - about 10 minutes. Draw a line from a point on the reference model, for insertion of the paper space items once re-scaled. Set the reference model to 1/8" = 1'-0" Left to right highlight all paper space items (including the line drawn in 1 above) and upscale by 2.5 (1"=20' up to 1/8" = 1'-0") The example I show is incorrect scale at 1" = 10' While the paper space items are highlighted, group them. Reset the insertion point of the highlighted group to the end point of the line drawn in 1 above. Shift highlighted group to point on the reference model where the line from 1 above originated prior to scaling. General clean-up
