    • Sketchup 7 PRO Download

I have a computer running windows 2000 and tried to download the trial version of Sketchup 7 pro. I wanted to save it to my thumb drive and install it on another computer running windows xp. The download was not successful.

The windows xp computer is not currently connected to the internet.

Is there a way to do this?

      Thanks.

    • RE: Plugin

I think I'll stick to making my spiral stairs in "Datacad" and importing them into sketchup.

This works great for me. It includes a handrail, etc.

    • RE: Plugin

Well, I got it installed correctly.

Now, how do I get it to work. It says select two curves (what curves?) and then what.

I drew 2 circles with a 1.5' radius, selected them and got a weird cone shape.

Thanks Jim. That did the trick.

    • RE: Plugin

I don't get it. I have the .txt file but renaming it to spiralstair.rb does not change the type.

Under "rename" and "properties" it still shows as a text file, not an rb file as my other plugins do.

I can't find any "all" option by right clicking.

I tried taking an existing .rb file and saving it as a new name. Then deleting the text and pasteing the spiral stair text into it. It did't work.

      What am I doing wrong?

    • RE: Plugin

I click on the link and when it goes to the error page, I then add the .rb in the address window. It then opens the code.

All I can do is "select all" and copy to the clipboard.

Then I can past into wordpad but can only save as a .txt file.

How do I make it an .rb file?

      Thanks.

I see them but when I click on either link to download it does not work.

I guess they are not available anymore.

    • Plugin

I saw a plugin "ruby script" for a spiral stair but can't seem to find it again.

I'd like to add it to my plugins folder.

      Where can I find it?

      Thanks

    • RE: Housebuilder

      Thanks for the help.

I had looked at the youtube video before but did not remember the "right click" option.

Also, I did not have the toolbar turned on.

      Thanks again.

    • Housebuilder

I downloaded and installed the housebuilder plugin. It works ok making walls and gable ends and roof.

How do I insert doors and windows? There are no tools for this. Are they a separate file download?

    • RE: Indigo

      Thanks for all the help.

      I downloaded the correct file.

I then put all the extracted files into the SU/Plugins directory. When I opened SU I located Indigo.exe and now everything works fine.

Now all I have to do is learn how to use the program.

      Frederik,

Thanks for the link. I'll download the Indigo file and see how it works.

    • RE: Indigo

There is no "indigo.exe" in any of the directories I have after unzipping the SKindigo.zip file.

I also have the SUpreviews.zip which does not have an .exe file.

I downloaded the files from the Indigo site.

Maybe I just need to stick with KT.

    • RE: Indigo

      I still don't get it.
I have a downloaded zip file called Indigo 1.0.9 which has the files "Skindigo" and "SUpreviews" and "SKindigo_1_0_9.rb".

      There is no "Indigo" directory.

So, I'm back to where I started.

I understand that the the program runs within SU. Why is an exporter needed?

That's the problem. I did not have an Indigo folder until I made one.

    • Indigo

I downloaded the indigo plugin. The installation says to copy the skindigo file to the sketchup plugins directory. I did that. It says copy the skindigo.rb to the plugins directory. I did that. It says copy the SUpreviews folder to the "Indigo" directory. I don't have an Indigo directory so I made one and copied the SUpreviews folder to that.

Then when I open Sketchup, it shows a window asking for a *.exe file and I can't find one.

So, what am I doing wrong?
