Yep. We've posted the new installers, but have yet to push the updater mechanism. We often wait a couple days to make sure things are stable in the wild before enabling the Help > Check for Update mechanism.

Hi guys, I work on a MAC and use Final Cut Express for all of my movie editing. Sorry I can't help more with the window side of things.

I always export out image sequences, too, instead of a pre-compressed movie. Other than giving me more editing options, image sequences are nice when SU crashes during export and you can start exporting from the last rendered scene transition instead of having to start over.

I use PNG as it is uncompressed and the files are small in size.

I also try to avoid materials with lots of contrast as high contrast textures also flicker and flash during playback. I will sometimes go so far as to edit a desired material in photoshop to minimize contrast. Groundcover textures are particularly troublesome, in my experience.

The simple icon base of SU is what I find so appealling at the moment. I've worked on AutoCAD and ArchiCAD and there comes a point when you realise you can have so many command options and icons that you forget what you were trying to do in the first place while you try to remember how the command works. (I know first sign of altzeimers). Having started on a drawing board, (you know, pencil & paper), there is a lot to be said for SU's simplicity in maintaining design focus. That's not to say I don't have any plugins, I do, but they are a select few that bring instant productivity gains rather than clogging my menu structure with subtle variations that do a similar thing.
