    • RE: How to make good textures

      Hi,

Thanks for the fast and clear reply, i'm already using pixplant.
I render whit su podium, there are also material settings avaiable the most commen
      bump,reflection,transparency,....

But i'm still not getting the solution if you mentioned one πŸ˜„.

I want to achieve the result like in the attachment.
Is this simply by downloading the highest resolution from the material and importing it into sketch up ore is this (probably) a bit more difficult.
If yes on a bit more difficult: what is the best workflow to achieve a result like in attachment.

      Thanks in advance,

      Sam

    • How to make good textures

      Hi guys,

What is the best way to make good textures to render.
      This is my workflow mostly.

1.i go to http://www.textures.com/ and search for my textures.
2.Then i import them into sketch up and re-size them whit the pins on the plane where i need them.

      Is this good?

On cgt textures you have mostly 4-5 choices to pick the resolution of the texture will this give many difference on the texture itself? The bigger you go the better?

Because now i have this problem see attachments the texture looks good from far be not from close,
how can you fix this, by downloading the same texture but on a higher resolution ore...

Is my workflow for making textures right ore are there better ones?

      Thanks,

      Sam

    • RE: How to make a texture like this?

      Ok.

But what is the best way then to import downloaded textures like from this site.
A:You just draw a rectangle size doesn't matter?
B:you draw a rectangle whit the same size as the picture?
πŸ˜„ you draw a rectangle and paste the texture on it so that it looks normal?

But what do you do then iff you need the texture on small and large size's?

I just want to be able do download such textures from the site and make them good ones, so that you can't see that they are picture's pasted against echt other? Just a seamless nice texture.

Hope you understand and can help me?

    • RE: How to make a texture like this?

I found this one it looks quint off the same.
      (http://www.textures.com/download/metalbare0141/27405) left one.
But ok, i download the texture from the site, best thing is to download the biggest one i suppose?
But then i import it on sketch up as a texture, but then i should draw a a rectangle whit the same measurements as the picture? Because by example i need this texture for a table, the tabletop is 3mx1m. So i pick the bucket tool and paint it on the tabletop ore should i re-import the texture and put it on the table top?
And do the same whit the table legs?

    • RE: How to make a texture like this?

      Thanks for the fast reply!
I searched already on a lot off texture's site but i didn't find really a texture like this one.
So i was thinking to take a bigger picture from it and make it seamless, are there program's for this quint off stuff?
Ore are there people who can do this for some money?

But when i use seamless texture's i always end up whit these things(see attachment) i want it to be smooth then you can't see that the next ''picture'' starts.

    • How to make a texture like this?

      Hi guys,

How can i create such a texture, because there are like bumps in it?
Is the best way to find a seamless texture and paste it?
Ore do i have to make in sketch up a plane whit bumps in it and give it a grey color and some reflection and that stuff?
Iff yes to sketch up how do you make such a thing in sketch up whit the bumps?

      Thanks in advance

    • Building roads from dwg.

      Hi,

I need to build new roads from a dwg that i imported in sketch up.
I already welded the parts from the dwg to get 1 curved line.
My idea was to build it with them whit the follow me tool but i get a strange result.
Then i searched for other plugins and i found this (https://www.valiarchitects.com/sketchup_scripts/instant-road

Is this the most simple solution for these problems ore are there other ways to work true this?

      Thanks in advance,

      Sam

      hi Box,

Thanks for the fast and clear reply. I know the resizing works but then its just for one group the others don't follow. But that will be because all the plans are on different scale's i think.
I will all resize them separately, do you need to resize them all in a different sketch up file ore can you do this also with turning layers off and on.

    • Measurement tool (urgent!!)

      Hi,

      New project so new problems.
I need to draw a new very small city, i received the plans in pdf format and converted them to dwg.
I all putted them on layers and sorted them out in sketch up.
Now i want to make that all the drawings have the same measurements.
I normally do this whit the tape measure tool, i measure something and put in the measurement that it should be. Then sketch up asks if the whole model must be like that then i say yes. But it doesn't do it :s:s.

      here's the download link.(http://we.tl/t9lGBkav10)

      Thanks in advance,

      thanks for the reply's.
@kaas: i tried to clean them inside sketch up but that's realy a mes and a very unpleasing job and almost not doable. I don't know/find a solution inside inktspace . This is really strange that there is no plugin yet for this problem. Ore does anybody else knows a good solution.
Ore else i will just import the pdf as image and draw on them.

      Thanks in advance,

      Hi guys,

I imported a pdf into inkspace saved it like a dxf file and imported in sketch up.
But I get this result he draws all the bricks and lines, is here a solution available?
Ore is the only solution to import the direct pdf file and re scale it?

      Thanks in advance,

      hi guys,

Thanks for the reply's, I have sent this question also to the developers of the program.
They knew the problem, and in the last update it is fixed.
I recently bought the program its a very nice and good plugin.
You pay just for a license.

    • Ruby window and textures

      Hi guys,

I'm using the test version of ruby window, and i'm planning to buy the full.
      It's a very handy plugin!!(http://www.rubysoft.nl/)
But i was working on a project and i wanted to change the texture direction of something and i get this: ( see picture)

Whats the problem ore how do you fix this? The object is not on the ruby window layer its on separate layer.

      Thanks in advance ,

I will take a look tomorrow i fixed already whit a little movement off the things.
Thanks for the fast and good reply's.
Btw: Is it possible to import the drawing from autocad exactly the same in sketch up,
whit the colors and name's and everything that would be a less confusing now i have this.
Everything is put on layers but still it's sometimes confusing.

      Thanks in advance,

    • Dwg to sketch up

      Hi guys,

I'm trying to put an dwg file into sketch up.
I know that's not really hard, you go file--import----then choose the dwg file.
But then i get this i putted a photo straight from autocad and one just after importing into sketch up. I suposse that there went something wrong whit the dwg file. But its looks fine i think.

      Please some solutions!

      Thanks in advance
