Here's an example (attached picture). The house walls (foundation and subgrade shown) are extended stepped down to meet existing grades. There's also retaining walls at the existing upslope and where fill for driveway was added. In this case I did not try to join the "fill" element to the rest of the mesh. That might be a good idea at some later point in project when modeling is done.
oops "simulate"

Hello,
Is there a plugin which enables selection by drawed line?
I mean that can I draw the selection which chooses groups, components, edges or faces. Just like lasso tool in Photoshop? This would help me a lot, thank you!
this function is included in this plugin
http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=483628#p483628
also this one

but neither one gives a perfect selection

Is there a faster way with other software?
Can you give examples, if you have cloud format, which software you use to manage it?
I know you posted this a while ago, but did you ever have any luck with this? I'm trying to get my head around doing the same using my FARO .las files.
Best advice I've had is using the Cloudv8 plugin, but as you've said it's not nearly as fast as what the pointools plugin was.
Can you let me know what you think is the best way?
Thanks in advance
Thanks, peebo, for pointing out that next video, and the rectangle fill technique, and so forth. It has been a long time since I watched these, and I may have forgotten them and fallen into bad habits along the way.
I helped you and you helped me- thanks.
Got it! I checked that all rectangles were inside the road (hidden geometry) the ground and found the edges which went below (dashed lines). Draw them again with 2 edges and vola!
So what I learned is that the rectangles must be inside the drawn objects, if even one goes over, the face doesn't work.
It would be nice that there could be plugin which tells this.
Thanks everybody!
