    • RE: DC Copy Behavior in a Curved Path

As your byline says, Chris, "your intelligence will never compensate for my stupidity"....

Having said that, can I have your in response "for dummies?" πŸ˜„

I think you could make a component clone itself along a curve, but you must know the curve beforehand, and you would have to be able to define it mathematically. The positions of the clones would have to be determined by the mathematical definition of the curve.

    • DC Copy Behavior in a Curved Path

Just wondering if a DC can be built in such a way as to clone itself along a curved path (i.e., like trellis rafters, on I'm trying to do right now). Can it be done in theory, or am I shooting for the moon?

      Cheers all.

Dear SU users,If there are here people using SU for landscape design, let know. It is interesting to exchange experience in designing with SU. Probably, it will be is useful.
      Ilia.

A lot of us landscape architects actually use sketchup. You can check us out further at the land8lounge.

Erika, the eldest, is now 12; Dianne's 11. They were 3 and 2 then, respectively.

Talking of IKEA furniture, let me throw into the pool my favorite: the Bjorkudden gateleg table. Compelled to do it while space planning our flat. Look for the pivot points if you want to fold the table to its teensy weensy size.

Ei Pete! Thanks for the tropical flora! My mangrove tree pales in comparison. Yep, low file sizes indeed. I should learn how to push the size way waaay down.

    • RE: A Few More Grungy Styles

I'm just about to put a Davestyles folder in my SU. The viewfinder style might be too artsy for the client, though. Liked the cow too. Reminds me of 'Top Secret' with Val Kilmer...

    • RE: Jumping dwg lines

Gaius clued me in on this one, and I think Jon is on track. As always in landscape architectural projects, base dwg's are usually geo-referenced from a benchmark sometimes kilometers away. Once exported, I get quirky SU performance.

I learned to track the project coordinates so that I could georeference using the model info "location", basically assigning said coordinates to the SU origin. Once near the origin, the model behaves nicely!

Which begs the question: Why the observed behavior when located far from the origin? Why is it rectified when exported from Revit per Pete's suggestion? Help, SU gurus.

      Oooh, Tom!

That water color version looks exqui-awesome-isite! Is that through a PS filter or through an SU style?

      Hello Takuji.

Just paying forward. Had the arab man dress up as an Emirati (from the UAE), with the traditional white 'ghutra' and white 'dish-dasha' without the trousers, and sandals, which they do even in a business setting.

      Dave and Solo,

More than nice; inspiring! Dave, a million thanks for sharing. I'd like to try this out in my project. I agree with the previous post. Those tropical foliage are nice. How do you guys manage to bring down your file sizes? Rhetorical question πŸ˜„

Tried the mangrove tree...and it's ending up as weighty as my frangipani. Posting you an image only....huge file will not help methinks, but can send you the tree if you feel the Cayman project will be worth your eventual tweaking troubles.

      Good luck!
