hi, one solution could be to make sure that in the Maxwell Scene Manager / materials / texture / source is set to 'link to application'

Maxwell grass feature is really easy to use (even with standalone plugin), here you can find some examples and parameter values for grass:

of course if you want to render a golf club then probably the solution is what cotty suggests, use geometry proxies...

or you can try with make-fur plugin, see this thread (http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=333&t=47858) where I explain briefly grass making with make-fur and geometry proxies

nice render images!
I like the lighting in the second one, the section with the rest of the house is looking great, my only critic is that the stairs are not visible but only the balustrading that looks weird...

here comes a new finished project: house in Helsingborg, Sweden

software used:
Sketchup (free)
Maxwell standalone plugin (free)
trees and bushes generated with arbaro (free)
grass: Maxwell grass feature and 'make fur' plugin by tak2hata (free)
photoshop (NOT free)

PP postwork for color correction and sharpening, and backplate for sky background

here comes the night time view (tested with all vegetation hidden), I need to increase the lighting on the first floor to create more contrast with the wooden box... heard that Maxwell standalone plugin supports now IES, will give it a try, I think it would be nice to see nicer flood light on those white walls...

it is looking really nice, and you captured a nice atmosphere... but I would remark just a couple of details (just my personal opinion):
the ivy plant looks flat and there is a white edge where the image was cut, have you tried 'ivy generator' by Thomas Luft???

and there is something strange with the dirt, looks like it was applied just to the edges of the geometry...

about the hedge it has already a random rotation and scaling, instead I changed the plant for another a bit bigger with denser foliage with a planting distance of 45cm (before plants were planted @60cm)

did a quick PS preliminary study of the lighting for a night time view, the idea is to light up the white walls while the wooden box remains dark contrasted with the interiors light
