Anton, you deliver it as promised! It looks great.
I was wondering will v2 comes with something like force modifier in Blender,
for pillows and similar?

RE: V-RAY 4.00.01 FOR UNREAL
Judging by the description this should work with Sketchup also, so this would be the easiest option for SU to Unreal workflow, at least to ones who use Vray for rendering in SU?

V-RAY 4.00.01 FOR UNREAL
Hi guys,
I do not have time this morning to try new V-RAY 4.00.01 FOR UNREAL, did any of you Vray users try it already?

RE: SubD examples and models
It looks great!
Do I think it should be less flat on top?
What is your plan for texture? -
RE: Spherify a loop?
Yes, there is no automatic way for it in SU. Maybe Thom needs more good suggestions for new tools in QFace/SubD workflow. I find Blender easier for this type of modeling but I will not quit on QFace/SubD workflow yet.
I think there is room and will on Thom side to add more tools to ease things out when modeling with QFace/SubD way, we just need to present them to him. -

L i am: I'm not sure about the masterful part, but I'm pretty satisfied with the model.
Nlipovac: When I saw the listing for the original, I imagined that it was meant for a gentleman who lived in rented rooms, like Sherlock Holmes on Baker Street, and needed both a secretary and a dresser. The piece also appears to be more utilitarian than fancy-schmancy. It's made of oak, rather than mahogany, and except for the molding details on the upper case, it's pretty plain. And after nearly 200 years of use, it looks pretty banged up.Sometimes!?, eye meets with something that makes it cheerful and heart responds to it, most of the time for me it is a design of a chair that make that impression on me, but this time it was this piece.
I do like what you design and post here but this one is just a bit over them. -
RE: Georgian chest on chest
I love it. That piece is so useless to me and yet I really want one, just to watch it.

RE: V-Ray Waves
Did you try using a map in bump slot for displacement? Copy it from a bump and paste to displacement.

RE: Impress for Pcon-Planner
Thank you for this overview. I will have some spare time for the weekend so will try this free version.

RE: Impress for Pcon-Planner
Hi Pilou,
have you tried it out?
It looks impressive, but no prices for other versions. -

Great idea Chipp!
After watching this comparison I have no doubt blender was built by aliens for aliens. I'm not sure it's suitable for Archviz. Are there any plans (in Blender community) to make some kind of fork that will look like conventional 3D software? Here under UI / Template, they are talking about Blender 101, so we will see if that would take some edge of that steep learning curve. These days I am trying to use Blender for UVs.

RE: Laptop for modelling
I think any gaming laptop would do. I got older one Asus G750jz and it serves me well.
Go for i7, min 16GB RAM, SSD (not smaller than 256GB) + HDD and best Nvidia GPU you can afford. Buy one with Thunderbolt 3 so you could, later on, buy an external case with full-sized desktop GPU and speed up your GPU+CPU rendering, if this $1K would not get you good GPU. You could go with 15" display and add one larger desktop monitor (24"+). -
RE: Place a shape on a curved shape
You need three support groups:
- That 1/2 of cylinder is first
- Projection plane is second
- Connecting edges are third
You need to group them each and all together. See how mine is grouped.
You place geometry you want to lay down onto cylinder on a projection plane.
Then you use Flowy.
Maybe this video can explain it better than the last one I posted.
