      To give you some more info:
      I need to keep both parts of the geometry that is sliced in half. I have been using Zorro but I have been slicing it twice to get two halfs.
      The reason the model is so big is that I'm using a lot of smooth curved geometry for this project. 🀒 πŸ˜„

      The intersect method combined with your great section script would work wonders if it wasn't so very slow to intersect.

      I'm not sure how I can group only the parts on one of the section cut/plane sides?

      This is exactly what I did, and the process too hours to complete and then the cut was "dirty" I had to manually fix several parts that for some reason didn't slice correctly :S

      it's 24MB exploded, and if i look at the statistics = 36K faces.
      The intersect process is still running in the background :S

      Hello everyone πŸ˜„

      I'm having the usual issues with the Zorry section cut plugin and I would like to know if there's any other working method for splitting geometry. Right now I trying to intersect a plane with my model to split it but it has taken 20 mins and SU just hangs, i don't know why this application is so extremely slow arghh...
      I hope there's a better way! πŸ˜„

      Regarding Zorry - I have tried to group everything but it still produces bug splat after 10mins or so. I have to tried to explode all geometry before grouping it too and the result is the same. It's so frustrating.

    • Weird artifacts while rendering in maxwell?

      Does anyone know what is causing these weird artifacts when I'm rendering?

      I have looked at the geometry and it's pretty clean :S

      yes it looks perfect:) My problem is that the circular shapes I'm using in my design are differently scaled - some of them are 20meters in diameter so the 'jagged' faces are much more visible.

      how many sides do you think I'll need? I have attached WIP to give an idea of the shapes involved and the detailing πŸ˜„

      I did a test with 100 sides and the polygons were visible so I guess it does require quite a lot :S

      Hehe πŸ˜„ yeah 500 sides might be a lot, the reason for the many sides is that I just recently found out how to make smooth circles in SU and I didn't really think to much about the amount of sides I entered when model ling, I assumed that it would take a lot of sides to get a really smooth result? I need to import the SU model in 3Ds max when it's done and I wanted all circular shapes to be perfect. It might be overkill though, it is making my life hard with this complex geometry that's for sure! πŸ˜•

      Sometimes when I use it it's very slow, it can take 10mins on a large model, is there any tips on speeding things up?
      I have a current model with many round shapes and circles with 500 sides and so on, it takes forever.
      I'm not trying to sound non-thankful, I just wondering if I can do something to make it go faster πŸ˜„

      It might be very simple but I don't know how to find a specific group in my model, I have problems cutting group #94 as it freezes but I don't know which group it is, is it possible to locate the #94 in some clever way? πŸ˜„

      I'm testing the plugin and it seems very nice! But when i try to create the 'tweens' no scenes are added, what could be wrong? V. 1.6

      the file i'm working on has a ton of sub components and heavy geometry but I read that it shouldn't be a problem anymore?

      I have tried to explode some of the components but it didn't help.

      I tried to create tweens for a simple model and it worked.

      .. OK I tried to explode everything and with 10FPS and 3 sec transitions it worked, but with 25fps and 30sec transitions it failed as before... this is very frustrating

    • Scale multiple components or "reset scale" multiple?

      Hello everyone!,

      I'm looking for a way to reset scale of a group of components, I have tried the Scale and Rotate multiple script from chris fulmer but it doesn't change the size of my components if I choose more than 1 at a time, strange!

      Is there another way?

      I have 3 groups, each group has 500 components based on 3 different components and I have to scale the overall groups and the components are scaled too but I want to keep all instances of the components size the same :S

      solo: I'm not sure I can explain it so it makes sense, but I would like mimic parallel projection drawing in SU, so if I move a wall in the 'top' view i can see the result as i do it in the 'Left' view and so on, so in theory each view could hold different section cuts that "reacts/updates" in real time based on what I do in another view. This would be useful for my architecture study and sketch process.

      I have found a sample file at the 3Dwarehouse that shows a way to do this with 4 versions of a component rotated, but it's very handy for modeling, so I hope something better is available πŸ˜„?

      Does any add-on or plug-in exist that will turn SU into a quad screen interface like 3DSmax? So I could have a perspective area + Left, Right and Top view active at the same time? This would be awesome! I often lack the visual update from a design adjustment in one of the other views while I'm in the sketch process. β˜€
