Didn't include a sky background .... just a study model for client.

Looks great. Is that podium? Kinda looks like it, and those plants look very familiar.
You are correct Solo....good eye! ...

GAH! One day I'll be this good.
Outstanding.
I'm also interested in the plants. They look great.
Thanks! Compared to most other images that I've seen, I have ALOT to learn.

I agree... Good use of the vegetation...
Very nice and clean renders...
What render application did you use..?You haven't written anything so it's difficult to comment...
I used Podium V2 as well as 3D plants from Podium Browser V2. I really enjoy using Podium. It's relatively fast. These two scenes took less than 10 minutes each to render. I did a little post processing in Photoshop, but really not much at all.

These plants & flamingo i believe are credited to Solo (here on the forum). They were available from his site as a paid download see plant pack 1. I have bought these and can say they are very well made.
They are included in the Podium V2 Browser in 3D plants and I agree, they are extremely well done. I wish there were more of that quality.

It is nice except the flag.
Do you mean the flag is not realistic ... Or you do not like the American flag?

lol, I didn't say it's not useful, you should just know that there are many things that are different with the current version. The manual is still the best place to start to understand the concepts, but I would also recommend looking at the video tutorials, as they explain a number of the newer features that don't show up in the manual and I think are pretty helpful.
There's been a lot of frustrations - if you read through some of the posts in the vray section of this forum and the chaosgroup forum - regarding the slow pace of development of vray for sketchup.
thanks
@andybot said:
that's an oooold version. The manual hasn't been updated in years, literally.
hmmm... that stinks because it's the manual that is being offered with the latest version of Vray on their website.

If that's the case, Chaos Group should remove it.

I just installed the latest version of Vray for SketchUp. When I "right-click" in the material editor on "create material", the only options I have are:
angled blend
skp two sided
standard
toon
two sidedI do not have "add VRayMtl" in the pull down menu. Is there a setting in SketchUp that I must select to have the VRay material option?
There is no separate vraymtl in vray for SU. Your standard material, or any sketchup material in the scene will be your vraymtl equivalent. The four other options all reference a standard material. This isn't 3dsmax - the diffuse material and material name is linked to the sketchup material.
This is from the Vray for SketchUp manual, that's why I was asking the question.

Nice one!! Did you model the plants yourself or got them of off the internet (3d warehouse)? Look's great!
Thanks .....They are included in SU Podium Browser 2.

Nice model but it appears to be falling off the edge of the earth! place a fence/trees behind the model and something to give the windows a reflection... just my tuppence worth though.

Good point. I have since placed a background image of the housing development where these bungalows will be constructed. Thanks.

A quick grouping of landscape plants from Podium V2 to see how long it would take to render using Podium. If I wouldn't have used the hedge, I think the rendering time would have been much less than the 4 hours that it took. I typically model in SketchUp and render in 3D Max.
This model was rendered in Podium V2.
