      I
Interestg to find this thread just as we were facing a similar prob w/ a large file. Followg Daniel's advice resetting virtual memory worked great to 3000 w/ AA for a 282mb file. Funny thg is that on a hunch I tested the idea on another prob we were havg. Not sure if Brad is watchg this thread, but as he knows we were unable to save a very large proj file (275mb) w/o a crash, but were able to successfully save a larger file at 311mb all on the same computers. Our files are const models with hundreds of obj and multi layers and TIG Xrefs so it was tough to fig out what was going on. Especially since the crash was occurring at abt 22min into a 35min save, so we gave up. But I just tried the same save for the same file that wouldn't save but w/ virt mem reset at 20,000 and it worked. Daniel you inadvertently solved a big prob for us, thx very much. And Brad, that might help whatever you all do there irong out that kink.... Thx again /Dennis

That's so cool!!! My son has a Wii and he says we could probably hook up his Wii remote to do the same thing.

Here is another way. Make a new file. Make a rectangle on the ground plane. Make whatever changes you want to the object you made using the styles pane (choose your style or make a new one). Delete the object. Save the file with a name of your choosing in some nice stable place on your hard drive. Close the window. Open Preferences (on a Mac under the Sketchup menu) choose Templates, browse to where you saved your file and choose it as your template. Open a new file. Make an object, it will have the characteristics of your saved style.

Heh, I've even grown to use my 30 minute autosaves to alert me to how long I've been working at a model. P: Cyberdactyl

if the vray physical camera is on and less value for your rectangular light. you wont really see them. physical camera works together hand in hand with the the vray sun. if you are using night scene better to turn off the physical camera. all lights (omni or point lights, emmisive and rectangular lights will appear) if you insist in using the camera try lowering your fstop value, decresing the shuterss speed or even makign your ISO higher, but lo be careful because if your using ISO more than 800, the image will become noisier.
