Great point to mention TIG. I made the mistake of binding X as a shortcut and realized the error of my ways when trying to make multiple copies later on.
I recommend NEVER using X as a shortcut!

yep. Its odd that they don't list it as a toggle in the menu. SOOOO glad it works!

NEVERMIND! Problem solved.
Although it does not say "toggle" in the command, setting the [View > Component Edit > Hide Rest of Model] does indeed toggle on/off. Sorry i missed that but its worth noting.
Thanks,
Bob
I think i have the opposite problem. I DO NOT want to hide, but UNHIDE easily.
I have some users that have "HIDE REST OF MODEL" checked all the time, which means everytime i use their files and i edit components i cannot see the rest of the model unless i goto model info and uncheck the "hide".
This drives me CRAZY!!
There does not seem to be a command to "UNHIDE REST OF MODEL" or a toggle to do this. Am i missing something simple?
I would just like to be able to use a keyboard shortcut to uncheck or turn off "HIDE REST OF MODEL"
As a matter of fact, i wouldn't mind disabling it if possible. I never like having the rest hidden while editing components.
An help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

And thank you for the raise and vacation time. i am telling my principals that i am leaving now as per your authority. I'm sure it will work out well!! You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar!

Happy you've got it all worked out now.
Vacation? OK. Take the next two weeks off and relax. Enjoy yourself. You can have a raise, too.
Oh My, i must need a vacation. Just realized we were discussing this not too long ago! Sorry about that.
The key issue for me was this clarification:

One small thing to note, Plugins from other sources won't be included in Bundles. It can only recognize ones you have downloaded through the Sketchcation tool.
You'll find a handy tutorial for bundles here.

ah yes, of course. So i can use that plugin to sync different pc's plugins just by installing and logging in?
so...2014 wont read symbolic links?? im pretty sure i have the link setup correctly but SU is not finding any plugins.
what exactly is the "SCF Plugin Store" ?
thanks,
bob
Been wondering if anything ever happened with this or if there is something out there now that can do this. would love to just copy/past from autocad to sketchup.
thanks,
bob
ah, i see. thanks again for all of the info.
i have been using it for installs...brilliant!
looking at managing capabilities now.
oh great. i was not aware of that functionality. do you recommend that over the dropbox method?
yeah, i have used a screen shot too. sure wish there was a ui file to save and load. oh well. thanks for the quick response!

Is there any way to save toolbar setups so that i can have multiple computers easily have the same setup in sketchup? i cant find any solution and i routinely work on several different machines. would love to have the sketchup plugins and toolbar layout always the same and up to date with each other.
ive seen a post about using dropbox to place ALL plugins as a way of having the same plugins load on multiple computers, as long as the plugin folder is pointing to dropbox.
i may try this. anyone use this method now?
how about saving and loading toolbar setups?
thanks,
bob
Thanks. Here it is as i begin to setup to render. its actually kinda creepy looking fixture. i didn't pick it
ok. was wondering because i saw some threads like this:

Any ideas or links much appreciated.
I have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN Black.

Thanks guys!
Forgot to come back here and post how it went...
i placed these images in SketchUp, drew a few arcs starting from the bottom and going up that defined the shape as it changes from top to bottom, drew a top shape that looked like it was similar enough to the top of the sconce and used CURVILOFT to very simply create a mesh from the closed loops.
Once the mesh was created, i just textured it with the reference image (projected) and it looks beautiful. Probably a similar method as above using the Curviloft script.
Thanks,
Bob

Looking for suggestions how to create these crazy sconces. Im in a rush as usual and have to get something like this lopped into a restaurant model. Not sure what the best script or technique would be. Any and all help welcome.
