Here is my first simply fly around after playing with it for about 30 minutes. I haven't modeled the parking lot yet and added a lake out front just to play with the terrain tools. I have much to learn, but it is really easy and I can see that some of the questions I have had you guys have already asked.

I did notice that the if you had the opposite side of the default material exposed to the camera, it reads it as clear...which creates holes in your model if you are looking through the model at a wall that hasn't had a texture applied. Easy to fix, but something to point out for those that haven't played with it yet.

This was my second attempt. The thought is to animate a few existing projects and maybe the powers that be might loosen the purse strings so we can get a license. πŸ˜‰

This one is a little longer and a little more complete.

    • RE: 1st or 3rd angle projection- what's your preference?

Okay - so this is what you are talking about.
      http://www6.district125.k12.il.us/teched/Courses/TDresources/3rd%20%26%201st%20Angle%20Proj.html

I started off my Architectural career with a degree in drafting - we had to do those type of drawings for machine and tool making, but don't do much isometric drawings for architectural work anymore....if at all.

I thought you were talking about building a perspective like the following.
      http://www.tpub.com/content/draftsman/14276/css/14276_277.htm

I think some folks, for small projects, might still have a plan with a front and side elevation similar to what you are speaking of. I try not to use elevations with clients, they aren't always trained to know how to read them - that is what I use sketchup models for now.
I still use cad...to do some work prior to bringing into sketchup - but over the years it has become easier for me to start in sketchup as well.

Thanks for the verification. I guess that is something that is inherent with GPU renderers?

Also - can anyone tell me if it can render out in the background?
I am noticing with the Demo version that you have to have the program be active for it to render to the video file.

The closest term I would guess is 1 point or 2 point perspective? Maybe it's 3 point...been too long since I have picked up a pencil and had to set out vanishing points.

      Hey Solo - great find!

Looks like with the most recent release they have brought it down to around 258mb download...but that means less content 😒
      It installs to about 542mb.
They only give you basically one of each library item just to check it out. Wish they gave a bit more though.

Really easy to use - am attempting my first export of a movie. Unsure if I am able to change materials though...will have to try that out next because all my windows come in white.

One question for you Solo - are the trees in your videos Lumion or others?

      Hey Antoine,

You're keeping quiet these days. Must be to do with turning four-o πŸ˜‰

LOL - yeah you right!;) I've been swamped with work and organizing a New Beetle show in Roswell, NM for this summer...so not much time to enjoy the forums and extra stuff.
Had a couple days where I wasn't swamped and it has been nice checking out the forums again. πŸ’š

Bottom of my list seems to end with "1mm:1000mm(1:1000)" - am I doing something wrong?
I am right clicking on the model window and choosing "Scale".

    • Layout3 Scale?

I know...rudimentary question, but I am banging my head against the wall and searching yielded me nothing.

How can I set a scale in Layout3 that is somewhere between 1:20 and 1:30 - is there anyway to set a custom scale?

      Thanks
