The FOV issue is one that TRimble acknowledged. It doesn't work like before:
This is a known issue that we're investigating. If you press "Tab" or click in the measurements box to adjust the value you can see this error. To work around the problem, click once to start using your SketchUp tool, move your mouse a bit, then start typing right away without clicking or tabbing into the Measurements box. You can then specify your exact value, then press return.
Does anybody know what happened to the ability to key in the desired value for the FOV or the eye height.
I now get the shift part for the FOV, but what about the eye height?
Is there a means to enter values anymore????? It was quick and efficient.
What if a component has two materials in it? That's where is seems to get a bit tricky unless the component is placed a layer NOT associated with a material. Advice? Thanks!!! 
I just want to make sure that nested components are not causing crashes...

I want to make sure that I am doing this right.
I have a window assembly component with metal and army green glass. Each of the layers inside the component is on that layer. I put the component on layer 0.
Is that how this is done?

I get the blank screen now with only 1 file open and it is in the finder too. It disappears when I quit Sketchup.
"V-Ray doesn't use web dialogs, and I am unable to reproduce the issue at all on my machine. We don't handle multiple windows of SU being open on OSX at all, because they have an entirely different way of doing things under that environment. It's something we would like to address soon, but so far have found no simple solution for it. We support 1 SU window open on OSX at a time. If you do open a second window, you will corrupt your scene, get crashes, and other horrible things. Thomthom's utility will likely not be helpful at all with the way the OSX version of SU works."

I get the same thing on my Mac all of the time.
Maybe the latter. Devin, what does the bug report say that it was related to the file I sent you?

The debugging command "clear texture cache" has seemed to stop the crashes for now! 
Looking for advice on how to clean the materials out of file and start fresh.
I have file that are two years old that started in Sketchup 7.0 and Vray 1.48. (Mac OS)
They then went to Sketchup 8.0 and 1.49
Now I am working with Sketchup 2013 and Vray 1.6
Crashes seem to caused by the materials palate going bonkers. It add and subtracts materials in the palate as the cursor spins. Then it crashes.
I need to get to the bottom of this or look to a new solution THIS WEEK.

How can we get this to work?
It shows up in Sketchup only after I render or open the materials editor.
Opened material editor and it happened again. Another unusual item is that the image is more than 3800 pixels wide which is more that the screen pixel width of 2880. I reduced it in Photoshop to post it. I tried to save and Sketchup crashed.
I am running this on a Retina MacBook Pro 2012 and I'll see if discreet graphics are on next time this happens.
Many times when I used Vray 1.49 I would get a blank rectangle where the Sketchup model should have been. Now this has happened with Vray 1.6.
What is the issue? A memory leak?
Will this be fixed soon?
Happy to report I have both versions of Vray on their respective versions of Sketchup and it works ok except with a couple of my files that may have other issues.

I got it to install but it couldn't find the plug-ins folder for Sketchup 2013 so I had to make an alias and put it on my desktop and go that route as the library will not show up through the dialogue box without resorting to the command line.

It is not clear to me that as an academic license holder of Mac OS Vray 1.49 that I can use the 1.6 version without limitation. I do not want to uninstall anything until that is in writing somewhere. I am very wary because the last time I tried to do this the representative from the American distributor took a month to get back to me to fix the license issue which was on his end and I missed a crucial deadline.
