I dont know how I missed this post!! Quite a refreshing work!!
Yes how do you do those shadows...make them look 'wet'. Is it a xara deal only? do you know any filter (or set of filters) in pshop that could help achieve similar effect? Thanks for sharing your work!

Rendering days are here again!!
Hi all!
I am back to rendering after (what seems a very long time) doing 'other' architecture stuff around in the office.
Anyhoo..here is a render of a condominium lobby space.

RE: Modeling help request
ok...left a note in components section as well
that ring is intentional (metal to glass transition). see pic.
yeah it is in a bigger dining hall space...not the main element in model. Thanks for the tip though!~e

Hi Irsuser, hi folks.
See attached SU file for ideas.
Hi Jean!
Thanks for the tut! This really helped me!
As appreciation, the chandelier (and a couple other furniture items) from my current project are here for everyone to d/l and use
http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/sas/Components/ThanksToJean.skpI was able to use Jean's model itself to create that chandelier component. To an extent the component is 'adjustable'... Soon it will be incorporated in a rendering...should get back to work now
Thanks a ton!!

Can AutoCAD LT 2008 open an AutoCAD 2008 file?

RE: Podium render contest
I would suggest looking at the first contest.
chk out the model provided (skippy file in the first post) here
http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/post/supodiumforum/vpost?id=1743294and then chk out the winners' take on it..here
http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/post/supodiumforum/vpost?id=1786065I didnt participate last time. but followed through it...some really amazing interpretations and results!

RE: Su podium renderings using its first version
your renderings have nice light quality. no hot spots...which is great!
Couldnt gather much about architecture though.the mountain resort is a good attempt! Seems the tress and vegetaion was post processed
I hope TBD incorporates support for PNGs in the next upgrade.
what is the texture on the left roof? -
RE: Just sharing new work on new forum
comp config is like this:
Dell - xeon, ~3.14 Ghz, 2GB RAM
I am quite happy with indigo inspite of its long render times. This one 'baked' for almost 60 hours. But I did it over 4 nights. That is one of the features I like about indigo that you can stop a render and later restart where you left! The image outside is the real view from this unit, taken from a cherry picker at the 4th level! I could have adjusted its contrast/brightness/gamma.
Whaat, the skindigo guy is really cranking out updates day after day with more and more material presets. I agree some are quite convincing. Initially it was a slight learning curve for me.
Thanks for your comments everyone! More images are in the oven and should be ready by Monday!

RE: Autocad from SU
'Plan Elevation'?!! is that a common thing to say where you are?
I like the 'archive' look! -
RE: A question
wow soapskinbubble eh?...that absolutely worked for me...Thanks a ton!

RE: A question
well yes that is true... but I was hoping to work straight with what I already have here
but guess what you suggest here is I am going to end up doing anyways...It would be nice if there was a ruby which would allow to 'magically' create a fence like surface as we copied a curve along the blue axis!!!...ala push-pull but with a line as opposed to a plane!!
Thanks!
-
RE: A question
If you noticed in the skippy file, at one end I had started to create surface between the loops. I want that surface to be all around.
and yes, edges are non-coplanar. this info came from survey data.
Please see the attached jpg. Hope this will make it clearer what I want to do.
In grayish scale is the terrain and the orange selected curve is the curb line. now to apply appropriate textures I need to get a line of intersection on the terrain (which is not flat - at all....) So i was hoping if I can create a huge plane cutting through the terrain, then I can use 'intersect with model'...
Thanks!
-
A question
Please view the attached sketchUp file.
Is there a faster way to create 'cutting plane' out the two loops that I have in the file?
Thanks!
