Its been a while I rendered...
Dining room for a senior housing project in Colorado.
C&C welcome.
Any tips how to 'light up' those chandeliers in PS?
I might want to show 'sparkle' shining from those horn lanterns.
Thanks!

Hi Eric,
funny leaning tower figured in our brain storms as well!
I couldnt open the link but there was one Rubix cube entry this yr as well.
PM me your email address and I can send you photos (two pdfs) from this year and last yrs event.
One I liked from last year was
Bu-CAN-eer - a pirate ship (this might again be popular once Pirates of the Caribean -3 is released!)
Hey it was my first year running the show for LRS Architects (based in Portland, OR)
It is a great event and all for a good cause! LRS has been participating for over seven years now!
Our tag line for this year was 'Kiss Hunger Goodbye!'
I used SU to figure out the structure and total can count.
This year we partnerd with Skanska USA.
SU sketch and final build is attached!
Even though you cant build I would encourage you to design. It is a lot of fun!!
I appreciate everybody's comments...
and thanks for the critique Daniel! I will keep these in mind when I do a next one.
Revisiting the dw/mixed media/npr look.
There are things in it I absolutely like and things that I absolutely don't like. Can you tell which ones?!!..
...and what do you think? How can I improve this?
SU+FormFonts' stuff+GM's glass texture + SU styles & Layered (messed around) in Photoshop
Thanks!
PS. Didn't know where this belongs so moderators please feel free to move this thread to appropriate gallery
Those are more amazing renders Biebel!!
You inspire me to put in some non-billable hours and check out VfSU!!...
Currently I am using Indigo and would want to compare render times.
Vray quality and Indigo quality seem quite compareable to me (in able hands both can help create magic - so it seems to me!) But I am not too happy with indigo render times!
Is this Ando project downloadable somewhere?! It would nice if I can compare same (simple) model on both plugins.
That is absolutely fantastic! But then its biebel what else could one expect!!!...
I have to try out this plugin at my first available time. What are the render times on these?!
Tom, ...yes something like that.
Thanks for the ideas!
Best, ~e
like your new avatar..btw
Hello all!
Any ideas on how to do radial and circular texturing?
Please see attached image - a tiling pattern, going in a circular fashion along the circumference and radially towards the center.
I would appreciate if I can get some ideas for circular texturing.
Radial - I think I have little idea but open to suggestions as well...
Thanks!

Quite nice modelhead!! I like how the wood deck came out.
My only critique would be the roof texture is very 'flat'. Some creative texture mapping and bump map could help there.
Are you using sss for those lamps? or are they diffuse transmitters?
same building another view angle.
just experimenting with grass and lighting.
with the 'sun and sky' a little atmospheric
with 'background'. a little cold (i guess)
looking for some good concrete sidewalk texture (may be broomed finish) for upclose shots...any help would be greatly appreciated.
c&c very welcome...
Yes the trees are rendered. All trees are blend material with blend = 1.0
Please give me some ideas on how to enhance the grass and the sidewalk. there are some shrubs and stuff along a small edge as per landscape design. but I am facing difficulty making a more natural transition between the sidewalk to grass. It all looks quite flat.
Rt. now the grass is photoshoped. I did try your blend material from indigo forum, on a small patch, (It looked real nice tough) but to cover up this entire area I'd require atleast 100,000 of those!!!...
A first time exterior render using Indigo.
Testing lighting levels and texture. Working on landscaping.
C&C please.

the day light is looking amazing!!
The reception area, to me looks a little 'plastic'. Some clever texturing and components could help there.
plant in the vase on the desk doesn't look natural.
Are the walls going to have some texture...drywall??...control joints?...or is it smooth paint?
a little noise in it could help...maybe.
The metal part of those chairs could be more shiny?
my two cents..
stumped by those detail shots on your blog!!
really nice work. Inspired me to revisit and do some native SU outputs.
