Thanks for the comments, Liam it's carpet πŸ˜‰

I think this is an cool model/render but do not think the carpet works. I did not read it as carpet due to the Radii where the carpet follows the riser/tread and just about anywhere really. I only offer the criticism because that is close to a really exeptional image πŸ˜‰

For not doing any postprocessing I think your renders are good, but for me, photoshop is a vital process to make my work presentable.

      Cheers!

No argument from me on that. Photoshop is something I am procrastinating on learning. I have been watching vids and absorbing........oh I think that may be procrastination as well 😳

But seriously I can see the power in Photoshop and really want to find out what I can do with it πŸ˜„ Quite exiting really, I will start next week πŸ˜‰

Since we do not have a perspective on why you are stuck any suggestion as to what do do about it may or not be appropriate. My suggestion would be to write a brief (to Self) requiring that you pick one your projects, outline what you want to achieve and a deadline. And see what happens. Good luck with the drought mate πŸ‘ πŸ‘

Nice work mate!! and entertaining to see the progression. I wish others would be more prepared to share. I for one love seeing others members work. Otherwise it would be like watching tumbleweed here ATM. I would like to ask those that "Lurk" on here and do not engage or post, to at least give a thumbs up to others work when they think it is warranted, πŸ‘ πŸ‘ πŸ‘ πŸ˜„

The first image was meant to be a Twilight render (not the render engine)not a daylight render. So I decided to go for a full night render. Again it was right out of the renderer with no post production at all, so it took a lot of fine tuning. Will try for a tryptic of all three times of day lighting conditions

      Cheers

Curious, why did they engage you to model what was (I assume) was alredy built?

      Thank you.

You got that backwards. I work for the architects who designed and managed the project. The model images you see were done before construction began.

That makes sense, must have been a long time between the SU and seeing it come to fruition.

Looks great!! Great atmospherics, indeed. I need to learn photoshop bad. Only thing I would say is the reflection is a strong part of the composition but is unaffected by the surface of the water and waves as it would be.

    • RE: Looking for a brief or challenge....Please.

Hi Guys thank you so much for your thoughts. The 1940's bar requiring the "scars' and nuance of a war effected economy and the sketchup forum link (with some interesting suggestions that may have merit) and little big house ( I need to research that) all sound really interesting and I hope the inspire and challenge others.

Thing is I failed to communicate my thoughts well at all πŸ˜’ I am trying to build a portfolio and gain experience in Architectural Visualisation. So am looking for a brief in that sphere. Atm I am plagiarising other peoples architectural concepts and putting my own spin on it or designing out of my head and working with spontaneous variations and atmospherics. My most successful stuff has been watching a movie and finding an image within the movie that inspires, and doing a model/render trying to recreate and putting a spin on it that makes it mine. But without referencing that image further than my original mental snapshot (see attached image as an example of a mental screenshot from "The Martian 2015) The result looks very different from the inspiring screenshot once I referenced it on completion of the render, As I added people and changed it to look more contemporary.
Sorry about the ramble but that was my way of giving ideas for inspiration to others. And in light of that asking for other ideas/brief/conceptual start point specifically something that may impress Architects requiring an architectural visualisations, especially building exteriors. Any further input and ideas welcome.

OK I just read that back and it sounded a bit Blah... Blah....Blah. Hope it is understandable to others πŸ˜„

Hi Liam thanks for getting baxk, that sounds really exiting ❗ ❗ If I understand correctly in relation to the glass reflection etc it may do away with the need to some extent of HDRI environments, and my experience with environments is it is often difficult to get an apropriate one and they are reasource intensive. Cant wait mate and good luck with it. Please keep us informed πŸ˜„
