Right on, Plot Paris, I always love your creative input and responses. I was getting a bit frustrated with sketchup (only a tiny bit), when I wrote the last post, I was in a very tight dead line and had to work with a file from a larger architect firm, that I don't want to mention here. I do work with huge master plans and having some layers is kind of unavoidable. I agree, in modeling exclusively on the default layer and separating only by colors. Still I'm insisting on google to fixing the nasty camera bug, I can work and handle around it, but don't really want to.... Anyway despite the little bugs, sketchup still is the greatest tool I've ever worked with, so thank you for giving us this great tool google.

Those tree images in that link are commercial and almost certainly copyrighted- although the guys's been a bit foolish posting such large previews (and no legal notices!), but nevertheless using them would surely be a breach of copyright. I edited the post with a note to this effect. As usual, if it seems to be too good to be true.... Jackson

@sepo said: I have seen it in their Offices in Frankfurt and I have played it . I know what I am talking about. On high mode it goes so slow . In mid mode is more playable but not so nice. What you see on the youtube is maps and marketing Maybe im just so used to lower frame rates that it doesnt phase me. I did notice that in the one video though, but ive seen others where the frame rates are smooth too. How could it be marketing if the videos are showing off unsupported mods?

No No No there is no doubt that Skp have lots of dedicated Ruby script developers, but i mean to say some thing extra from the google side as we all know from the begining Skp was a trendsetter like the pushpull tool.( even Au...CAD now have it ) just like that a totaly new way of organic modelling ( me be i am expecting much ) but why not ?

@kwistenbiebel said: I like the way you simulated that glass. A bitmap texture as emitter? I should try that. Actually, it is sunlight that is penetrating the window. The window materials are a simple diffuse material with the SketchUp opacity set to 65. Using the texture as an emitter probably would have rendered faster and looked almost identical, though. Never thought to do it that way I would have commented on your image, but my office always blocks your links . Nice image! You are a pro when it comes to composition! I see some strange uv errors. I wonder if there are some issues there with the Fry exporter?

@gaieus said: Too bad that mods are often not taken for also just "members" who can share their ideas without being "badged" and weighed as expressing some "official" standpoint of the forums. I too think this a bad thing...I have grown to respect and value the thoughts and opinions of most of the mods here, and wish/want their involvement in threads could/would be as "lively" as they (the ones I respect, at least :`) choose. But the truth of the matter is with the power to invoke change comes the possible presumption of an implied "scold" or evocative threat. Unfair, but true. There must be a way for you guys to "put-down" that lerking fear before it grabs the minds of us commoners...? I do hope you find and implement it soon, I really would like to hear more of/from some of you!

kwistenbiebel: Is this vista's security "feature" biting your behind? Copy the rubies to your desktop first, then drag them into the plugins folder from there. Also, look at the top of the explorer window when you are in the plugins directory. Is there a folder icon for "compatibility files"? That's were these things often end up. CB.
