RE: [Plugin][$] TopoShaper - v2.7a - 01 Apr 24
Toposhaper was not letting me increase my grid it would get stuck at 50% so I uninstalled and reinstalled both Toposhaper and Lib and now it is crashing when I try to generate terrain at all.

RE: [Plugin] FixIt 101 (Version 1.5.0)
.25 between two faces that are both facing out. (if I have more the rendering program does not have much transparency)

RE: [Plugin] FixIt 101 (Version 1.5.0)
I keep having it remove glass out of my windows... Otherwise I am very happy with it. Any way to keep this from happening?

Painting Backside of Face?
I have a very specific question. Is there a way to apply a material to the back side of a face. I have some that are easier to get to the front side but the back side is also viable so I want to go back and add a material but i don't want to navigate inside the small space nor swap color swap to get it there. So just curious if this is an available function and i just don't know the right key to press.

RE: Randomly Creating New Materials
@dave r said:
SketchUp does not randomly create materials old or new.You might wind up with unused materials if you insert components from the warehouse for example. Those materials will remain in the In Model materials collection even if you delete the components from the model unless you purge them.
It's also possible that certain extensions add materials to your SketchUp file. Do you have some rendering extension installed?
Thanks for the quick response.
It will take an identical to what I am using material and name it the same name plus 1. This happened before I used extensions also.
I was using Translucent Glass Sky Reflection. Went to lunch and now there is a new one called [Translucent Glass Sky Reflection]1. When I delete it 6 windows are effected but copies of that same group are not. When I fixed it before, it was all copies of that group because I had not noticed it before I stared copying it. Now after fixing it once there are 6 with the new material.

Randomly Creating New Materials
Out of curiosity why does sketchup randomly create materials with ones used in the model? I would like to know what instance this happened so I can avoid it. I have been building models full time since May and it has only happened on occasion. The one I started on today has had it happen three time so far. I am not sure what is happening to cause it. It is not a big issue just an efficiency annoyance.

RE: Dimension Strings
Yes it seems to have been a problem with the view in the scene that was being used. Thanks for the help.

RE: Dimension Strings
Create specific scene(s) in Sketchup model(s) that are linked to your Layout file.
I was doing this but every time I would reload the view port it would move and all the strings would be mashed up on one side of the sheet. I have done something to correct this but have no idea what I did to make it work better.
Are you still using SketchUp and LayOut 2015 as indicated by your profile?
Yes currently. I know there are a lot of new things with layout 2015. I prefer to build in 2017 make and then safe as 2015 for layout.
I was wondering also if there is a way to center the building in the view port to ensure that it ends up centered on the page?

Dimension Strings
Is there a way to get the dimension strings to stay attached to points on the model and to also have a model stay centered in a view port when you update the view? I update the model as we go through steps of design and have to reposition the model in the view, rescale the model and then reposition the dimension string. Is there a way to not have to do that every time because that makes it not very useful as a tool for projects.
Also is there a way to rotate 90 a view port? Figured this one out.
I want also to be able to place the dimension strings at a consistent distance from the edge of the model. Is that an option?

RE: Resize a titleblock?
Okay that is a work around I had not thought of.

RE: Resize a titleblock?
So no way to easily have the title block resize for different sheet sizes? I really don't want to have to spend hours just on the title blocks. I feel like this is the hard way of doing it.

RE: Auto-save as a real backup
Thanks. I will look into it. Is there no way for Sketchup to do it as an option?

Auto-save as a real backup
Is there a way to get the backups to save in a different folder/drive? If this was the case I would have my work from this morning when the folder was accidentally deleted. It is backed up at night so I have lost only 3 hours instead of the whole project but I thought the back ups were in documents but they are in the same folder as the file. That only provides limited protection. Mostly from crashes. I would like to prevent this in the future.
