i'm trying to export a jpeg to print on a A0 paper, that is 84,0 cm x 120,0 cm... i'm losing my mind. it just doesn't seem possible. A jpeg export over 4000x3000 pixels can't be done, i guess. there is a message "failed to save file C://...
pdf doesn't work at all!! it's a very complex model, with a lot of geometry, i'm afraid that it's just to much for sketchup's export possibilities
please help
my deadline is in 2 days
ok, all this talk for nothing
figured it out with the outliner, thank u Alan
found it, it'called applyTo.rb, thanks Jean-Franco
http://www.smustard.com/script/ApplyTo
however, it not exactly what I had in mind, event hough it will help.
Here is what I need it for exactly:
I'm working on a model of a whole little town. importing the geometry from a cad file... importing all blocks which sketchup imports like component. i'm importing piece by piece in order to keep my model as clean as possible, so I can hide some of the parts if i need to. Now, for example, lets take trees, sketchup recognises the block tree and it's all good, but when I import another piece of the cad file with the same tree block sketchup does not link this component with the first one... It's not only trees, obviously, the same thing happens with all my blocks; people, cars, trash cans, etc... That's why it would be useful to have a component manager that could instantaneously change all 300 trees#1, 400 trees#2, 200 trees#3, etc, into one unique block "tree" with a single definition, so I can modify it later if I need to...
I hope I've made myself clear
thanks for the help
is there maybe a plugin for managing component?
for example if I make a component unique and therefore different from the original, is it possible to make the inverse process?
thanx for the help
thanx fo the reply juju, but what exactly do u mean: use components?
is it possible to import a dashed or dotted line from autocad into sketchup? (like white lines on the road, if u know what i mean)
another question: when i download models from google 3d warehuose, they always come with only one layer and painted in "color by material" mode. so I lose an awful lot of time to make it suitable for "color by layer" mode, allmost as much as I would spend to create it from scratch. Soo.. is there a way to export in same way the model so that every material gets to be a part of a specific layer... Example: all faces paimted with material grass become part of layer "grass". Amd so on for every single material in the model
thanks for the help
hello everyone,
i use sketchup for 4 years now and i have always found color by layer mode much better because it keeps the model much cleaner and more organised (u can turn off some layers when the model gets too big too work with) that's because I use sketchup for very complicated models with a lot of detailes (entire small towns)
now, here is my problem, is there some command that can match properties of one object (or face,or edge) and transfer it to onother (like "sample paint" works in "color by material" mode? I hope I've made myself clear.
thanks for the help
