Set the falloff to 0
Thank you!! Ha, I clicked on the Soft Selection several times but didn't think to check and change the radius, silly me. Much appreciated.

Hi! I'm modeling human face but somehow ran into this issue with Vertex Tool - I think I could select each individual point or some points to move or rotate to form the 3D shape out of the drawn 2D geometries. However, now when I click on points to show the Gizmo, a lot of points are selected! A lot more than what I want to select to change, so I can't change any of them individually... As shown on the screenshot at the upper left corner, 200+ vertices are selected! How can I select less vertices? For example, when I only want to select the edge of the face to pull back? I'm sure it could be done before, maybe because of the geometries I drew are not correct? Please kindly help. Appreciated.
Figured it out yesterday. Had the Geoplane in vray on, then turned it off.
I donāt think any question is ever stupid. It happens.
Hi. Is there anyone that could help me with this please?
I'm doing a kindergarten room but somehow it gets stuck with a 'ground' showing in the image attached. It never happens to my other modeling before and it's so weird none of the Ground settings is turned on, HDRI background was set to Sphere as well, NOT hemisphere, but the 'ground' is still there... in vray rendering no matter how I change the model... I've tried everything...
Please help.
I think that was because my UTC setting somehow brought a very weird effect which was quite dark. I changed it to UTC-7 then it's working ok, still not ideal for the interior yet but a lot better for the exterior.
Hi. I'm doing the interior whilst starting from check the Material Override box with exposure and white balance to be auto, GI turned on, sunlight is on and set at noon on a summer day. Not sure what happened or what I did but these windows are not allowing sunlight in, at all! As the tutorial showed, I had the Glass material option - Can Be Overriden unticked, I was going to adjust a bit on the sunlight then turn back on the material override but there isn't enough natural light coming in and you can see all the windows are black! Had a few when I didn't have GI on that was completely dark...
Grateful for your help to take a look where I could possibly did wrong with this... Appreciate it.

Try going to 150% again. Then reboot the computer and open SketchUp. Any better?
Please update your profile. It is obsolete right now.
Thanks Dave, it's resolved now. Updated to 2020, all comes back.
Appreciated.
Unfortunately it didn't, and now the whole tray went missing... Don't seem to getting it back no matter how I change the scale setting and reboot. I'll update SU to try again, I remember I had it before.

What version of SketchUp? What is your display scaling set to?
Thanks Dave. My SU is 2018, and display scaling was 250% but now changed to 200%,150% and 225%, there's still no Soften Coplanar... I tried turning the Soften Edge on and off from the default tray.
Hi there. While using Sandbox tool for my grass, it says to also tick off the box of Soften Coplanar under Smooth normals but, there's no Soften Coplanar as the snapshot shows so my grass looks weird... Should I delete sandbox to reinstall? What can I do to get it back?

What does 'gizmo' mean?
A Gizmo is a sort of made up word for something that doesn't have a specific name, in this case the three pointed arrow thingamy that you use to pull and scale.
Thank you, and Bing says 'a gadget, especially one whose name the speaker does not know or cannot recall.' plus your explanation, to me, sounds like a John Doe in device. ))))
When I was mimicing the tutorial to create an organic shape chair model, I used Zorro2 plug in which should be like a 'sword' logo in the task bar, however mine didn't show, it could be found at the bottom of the Tool dropdown list, which was fine, still usable. But, when this slicing tool was used, my model couldn't be sliced neatly in halves, which left a gap when one half was created as a component then mirrored...
I wonder if the gap would create issues when export as .stl to 3d printing? Or, if I close up the gap using vertex tool, would it cause issue to be solid?
Questions is, how can Zorro2 the slice cut tool be carried out neatly and precisely?
Thank you both. What does 'gizmo' mean? I held 'ctrl' and the vertex pull, it worked!
I'm replicating a chair model from a youtube tutorial, somehow my Vertex tool doesn't allow me to only raise the selected rectangle up straight, it always comes attached with the surrounding faces. I tried many times, not sure why it's not like what's demostrated in the tutorial...
Attached below one is from the tutorial and the other is mine screensnapped:
Thanks all. Apparently it canāt be done with just one click, I just did the rest with the same procedure, didnāt take long either.
How can I copy the done profile to everything thatās selected?
Should take only one click...
Hi, I'm doing a pool water rendering while the tutorial says to change Binding setup to be Texture Helper instead of Auto, but I can't find the setting anywhere, could you help to see where this Texture Helper can be set to be able to modify the size of texture image for the displacement/noise to be bigger than 1'' to be more realistic? Appreciated.

I haven't used the extension but there appear to be some instructions here. Have you tried following them? You could also e-mail the author and see if he can give you some idea. Probably need to send the SKP file to him, too.
Thank you Dave. I feel like itās the axisā that I didnāt set up correctly, yes I know where to download the plugin only I donāt have a paypal, Iāll work with trial version for now.
This plugin the āLines to Componentā requires a face and line(s), I had the line(s) turned to component when I set a line to be component, just couldnāt get the correct direction - my model component is horizontal, but plugin turned component is vertical... I prob should set the XYZ axis the exact as the sketch up origins.
Hi. I'm making the infinite staircase as one of the Mobius strip design, but following the tutorial on a website to create steps, I'd need to use the new plugin 's4u to components' to make all lines components then extrude line and thicken it. Not sure why 's4u to components' just can't work, could it be because that I used the trial version? Somehow it's just not making components as I wished...
Could anyone pls give me some tips here or where I possibly did wrong or had not done...?
Hi guys, I'm rendering a bathroom using SU and Vray3.4 or 3.6, thinking to render an exposy flooring instead of conventional ceramic tiles. How can I set up the parameters given I don't have any vismat files ready to be utilized? Just a bunch of basic settings like refraction, reflection, diffuse, bumps and displacement if needed, would all be helpful. Much appreciated if anyone could give me a hand.
