Why such a high-res animation? Are you transfering to film and displaying
in a movie theatre? The best HD TV only does 1920x1080.

You can try this-
Put the tiff in SU on a layer. Then create a scene with that layer turned off. Then in LO insert the tiff (sounds like you're on a Mac?). LO will not downsample the image like SU does.
Print preview has known bugs. But actual printing should work.
Is it print preview that isn't working (I assume you're on Windows)?
The problems is happening because the units info is in the "model" and only the entities are copied, not the model info, so LO doesn't have any idea what the correct units should be. The bug has been logged.
6M for a jpg sounds big. What's the resolution of those? I know GDI+
gives Layout problems loading files over a certian size. I would also
suggest using png instead of jpg for line-work image files since png
is lossless and won't produce funky compression artifacts.
Can you attach some skp file(s), layout file(s) and pdf file(s) that demonstrate this problem?

I don't mind paying as long as the program is fixed and supported - neither of which is currently happening. Heck, I'd settle for some small indication that the program is even on Google's radar.
Are you part of the SketchUp beta group? If not, I can hook you up. Being part
of this group would give you news much sooner than waiting for a release to happen.

Just a guess, but I have seen <> wrapping words that need localized. SU looks for <> to tell it if it needs localized. If you go from SU 6 that has <> in its names and then go to SU 5, SU 5 may not know how to localize it.
Don't use 300 dpi in LayOut until you're ready to export to PDF or print, do 72 dpi while you're creating your doc.
Line thickness is in the style tab in the Sketchup Inspector. Its in points.
So try 0.2.
I'll add it to our list.
I've been thinking about the issue of saving the high-res graphics to the
layout file. The benefit is you won't have to rerender the image each time
you open the layout doc and print. The down side is, it takes forever to
save and restore the file, plus the layout file gets much bigger.
Any thoughts on these issues everyone?
I don't know how you guys got this idea... I'm a developer on LayOut and we haven't stopped,
we've actually have been growing.
What is on the page? Just an SU model, or is there some text or other items?
Is there a red X? What version are you using?
If you just have a SU model, your only option right now is to reduce the
dpi until the model shows up.
In the pages inspector, if you have the list view active, you can drag/drop the pages.
In the File Open dialog box, the last button in the toolbar is the "View Menu".
You can pick Thumbnail view there.
There's 3 ways I can think of adding a new "viewport".
File->Insert
Then select the skp model that you want.
Pages->Add
Copy the "viewport" from the previous page and paste
Pages->Duplicate
This will create a new page that is a duplicate page of the current page.
I think just an "Add Viewport" button on the Pages window would work.
Can you explain how this would work?
Does it add a new viewport above the selected viewport?
