Design Review has a compare function, but the prints have to be exactly the same - any change in viewport position will mean the two drawings are "different".
Nanocad http://nanocad.com/ is a free AutoCAD clone (not tried). You should be able to insert both drawings into a third to overlay them - you can change the layer/object colours in both drawings to make it clearer.

RE: SketchUP importer into AutoCAD
Pass, AutoCAD 2013 hasn't been released in Europe yet.
I presume it'll be triangulated (although they may be hidden depending upon the visual style applied in AutoCAD).
SKUP "solids" may be converted into real solids in AutoCAD, but I'm guessing. -
RE: Archeology, 3D and photogrammetry?
Sorry, never installed it, but it could be a newer version of AutoCAD DWG that SKUP can handle.

For software, AutoDesks 123D is worth a look

RE: [Plugin] Mirror
Thanks for keeping on the development of this tool; it's the first one I loaded years ago that made SKUP more familiar to an AutoCAD user.

RE: Good lefthanded mouse?
Logitech g300 is a decent mouse, a little small perhaps for larger hands but comfy all the same.

Thanks, got it now! -

Garuf,
Thanks for the explanation, the site looks well. -
RE: Help with Terrain modeling
The Kerkythea website has some SKUP lights with KT light bulbs that you could insert into your lamps - it would be a starting point anyway.
Best idea I can offer is to have a go rendering, then ask of the KT forum - they are very helpful if you have made some effort yourself & have an example to work with.
Can I ask how you modeled the "bowl" that is painted blue? It's quite a complex form & is well done. -
RE: [WIP] NPR Brick Pattern
Nicely done, is projecting mortar joints the norm in your area? We tend to have weather struck or bucket handle here to shed the water.

RE: [Plugin] SplitUp
Thanks for sharing the ruby & providing the clear video, but can I ask what this would be used for?
I thought the mantra for SKUP was to minimise the numbers of edges & faces. -
RE: Please, help! Need to made 3D from huge DWG Contour file...
4Mb for a DWG file??! I think it needs purging & removing all "junk" not needed in SketchUP. If it's drawn by layer, you can try importing it into SKUP & deleting the excess layers, or wblock out the layers directly from AutoCAD into separate files.

RE: Quick comparisons of SU and Revit from users of both?
I totally agree with ledisnomad on his comparison between packages. I've found revit a very steep learning curve beyond the play about stage. The main trouble is that everything has to be a family/component/block, & the editor is not the most user friendly. Once you have a kit of parts, you are laughing, as you can create new models in no time. I think the cross breeding with AutoCAD will pay dividends in ease of use, but it has a way to go yet.
Perhaps Vectorworks is another package to look at...
