I don't think it's for sale any longer.
I have the extension, but have not used it for a good while. Back then I was thinking of using Blender's render capabilities, the SU exports to Blender worked fine.
I was thinking of using eevee and blendup seemed to be a good way of bring in tje Su Model..
With blender 2.8 coming along nicely, i was thinking of using eevee for some realtime rendering with SU models

not really a tutorial... an intro from Unreal themselves

Seems to be pretty easy to bring in a model with good results.
I did not go further than just bringing the model in, baby steps
Thats as far as I have gone too! waiting for more content online to get into it. If you find anything useful regarding this, please post here!
I intend to add any and all video tutorials for unreal engine and datasmith related videos here for everyones reference and benefit.
Justin from SketchupEssentials had released a quick setup video. He intends to release more videos in his RenderingEssentials youtube channel in the future.

Surprised no one posted this yet here..
https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/blog/announcing-unreal-studio-now-in-open-beta
Now they have introduced support for unreal studio direct from Sketchup (2018 & 2017) in the form of Datasmith. However it works only with the preview versions of unreal engine 4.20 as of now.
There is a video from Rory Townsend regarding this. I am not sure of he is part of the forum here...

SketchUp plugin
Letβs admit it, the last year was not that successful for our SketchUp plugin: we had two developers who came, did a small amount of work, and then left. For the past few months, there has been virtually no progress on the plugin. We also hit some roadblocks in development, which did not help.By the end of the year, we were faced with a tough decision on what to do with the plugin. Should we scrap it? Or maybe reboot the development from scratch? All the while, we had to evaluate if any of that made sense, especially now that our colleagues from ChaosGroup have released their strong V-Ray 3.6 plugin for SketchUp (please check it on CGβs website , itβs worth it!)
Our conclusion was a tough one, but after a lot of soul-searching we have chosen to end development of the SketchUp plugin for good. We have decided that it makes most sense for us to focus all our efforts and manpower on the Cinema 4D plugin, which is really promising and very close to the finish line.
I know that this kind of news is always hard to read β and even harder to write β but to be honest if we compare what V-Ray offers for SketchUp and what we have now, we have to be realistic and admit that they did a far better job than us.
So, now we would rather focus our time and effort on the Cinema 4D plugin where we think we can offer more. I am sorry to those who we have disappointed with this move, but we sincerely think it is the best possible one.

While this is all well, and good, this needs to be its own thread outside the V-Ray for SketchUp forum.
well.. i guess now it can go back into the V-Ray sub forum!
WOW! now thats a match made in heaven!!!
Wonder how they managed the licensing with unreal - given the fact that unreal is free for arch viz use??? or is it? i am confused!
Hmm.. i thought Dale was working on the skindigo plugin.. wondeting whaatsup???
