I wanted to test out the PBR extension.
I'm using SketchUp Pro 2016
I got an error message saying I need Ruby 2.2.0 or SketchUp 2017.
Can I fix this?

RE: [Plugin] ClothWorks v1.8.0 - 28 Apr 2024
I don't know if I'll have time to do a lot with this, but I just bought it because watching what people have done with it, or just playing with it, is more fun than the movies.
Great work Anton. Can you post something that explains a bit of how it works? What are the factors that influence the simulation?
I was imagining using it in the design of tent structures and hanging structures. Knowing how it works would help in understanding how to use it and how good it would be for such structures.
Also, the "end" state would be most important in this case.

RE: [Plugin] Grow
Hi Tig,
I just tried your plugin. very cool. However, it seems like I can't get it to do what I want. I want to offset a component by a fixed amount (this works fine) and have each element be a fixed amount taller (e.g. 6"). I only seem to get a fixed increment with a scaling factor of 1.0 and then the increment in height is equal to the height of the component.
Can I accomplish what I want with your plugin? -
RE: How to install surveytool plugin in SketchUp 2015?

RE: How to install surveytool plugin in SketchUp 2015?
I have been using this tool in SU 8 and SU 2015.
A search of the plugin store doesn't find it.
I thought I got it through SketchUcation. Did SketchUcation use to have it? And now gone? -
RE: [Plugin] Roof.rb
Hi,
I just installed the latest version.
I made a simple rectangle. Selected the face.
Went to Plugins>Roof>Hip
no matter what combination of parameters I use I get a message saying:
"Hipped Roof Error.
It was not possible to make a single pitch hipped roof from this face."What could be the problem.
Using SketchUp 8 Pro, Windows 8.1

RE: [Plugin] Layers Panel 1.2.1
Re:
"It auto-updates the layer state of the current scene.
If you turn on or off a layer, it's saved in the scene.Isn't that what I would want to happen??"
From my use I would not want that to happen. When I open a scene I frequently want to turn on and off other layers while I'm examining the model. I do not want those changes automatically made to the scene. If I want the changes, then I click "update". It would be VERY inconvenient for my use to have every layer I turn on or off added to the scene.

RE: [Plugin] Layers Panel 1.2.1
Is there a way to tell within Sketchup which version I am using?

RE: 2 active section planes
I experimented a bit with section planes in and out of groups.
This may be helpful to someone:
Here view cuts is off and you can see all planes.
Here view cuts is on. The orange planes are active. The active plane outside all groups doesn't cut through any of the groups.
In this case another plane outside all groups is made active. You can see that it doesn't affect 2 of the groups but it overrides the cut in Group2.

That's not a problem, that's a feature.
Showing a layer in an hidden group turns this group on. That's just the way it works.I agree with Bob James. My preference would be when I turn on a single layer within a group that only that layer comes on. If I click on the group, then I would want all layers to come on. Of course, this is just a matter of preference for working style, but it is the way I would like it. Here is an example of how it would work for me: I have turned off a group. If I want it back on then I click on the group. If I don't want it all back on, but just one layer, then I would like to click on that layer. The way it is now I click on that layer and then have to unclick all the other layers. If there are a lot of them, then this becomes a little tedious.
Just my preference. This is a terrific app.

deleting the folder and file, then installing worked fine.
Very nice the way the program is working now.
thanks. -
RE: [Plugin] Layers Panel 1.2.1
I downloaded version .7
As soon as I clicked on the Layer Panel I get an error message. (see attachment)
When I try to add a layer with Layer Panel it doesn't respond.
When I add with the Layers window I get an error message.
What am I doing wrong?

This is really weird. Can you open this link with Internet Explorer and tell me what the popup says ? (If you don't have a popup, this may be because of an ActiveX warning at the bottom or top of the IE window)
I'm having a bit of a hard time following our conversation because it is intermixed with other questions, issues, comments, replies. I don't know if I missed any other response from you.
Here's what I get at the link you provided (see attachment)

Hi,
Just installed Layers Panel. It says: "Your Internet Explorer version is outdated."
I have IE10. Microsoft site says I have the latest version. Just to test I installed IE11 (beta). Still get the same message. What's up?Try that :
- Open Internet Explorer
- Press "Alt"
- Click on "tools" which should have appeared at the top of the window when you pressed alt
- Click on "Compatibility mode settings"
- Make sure "Display all websites in compatibility mode" and "Display intranet sites in compatibility view" are NOT checked
Then try again to open Layers Panel
Attached is Screen shot of compatibility mode after I unchecked one item.
Still get the message that IE is outdated. -

Can you open this link with Internet Explorer and take a screenshot?
Actually, the webdialog displays a warning when it detects IE7 or below. But maybe your version is detected as "below 7" for some reason...Anyone having the same issue?
Also, can you screenshot Layers Panel so I can see how it displays it?
Here is the screenshot from the link.
Also screenshot of Layers Panel. As I mentioned, it seems to be working right, but since I'm not up on all its capabilities and haven't used it other than to make some quick tests, I don't really know.
At the moment, the problem of updating my scenes is keeping me from using it on the models where it would be most useful.Oops, forgot to add the attachments. Hope editing and adding works.

RE: [Plugin] Layers Panel 1.2.1
Hi, I posted a bit ago about the outdated Internet Explorer messages.
In spite of the message, As far as I can tell the Layers Panel is working as described. I haven't used it extensively, just tested a bit.I see that scenes are updated when I change a layer with Layers Panel (as you mentioned).
I gather that you have to do that to make some of the functions work.
It is a big problem for me. I love the idea of your plugin because I frequently have models with lots of layers (a lot) and being able to group them would be very useful.
However, I also have fairly complex scenes with specific layers on or off. I often go to one of those scenes and turn layers on and off for various reasons (for example, I sometimes put alternate room or furniture layouts on different layers so I can see one option, then the other). When I am done testing different layers I usually want to go back to the original layers for that scene. But it seems your plugin would prevent me from doing that.Any thoughts about how to deal with that?
(I'm guessing to change the way the plugin works would be very difficult or impossible).Huck

RE: [Plugin] 2D Tools
Wow! This is really a great set of tools. Just now testing them out. I'm trying to think of some way to tell you how neat these are.
Thanks. Congratulations.
