    • Problem with PDR extension

I wanted to test out the PBR extension.
      I'm using SketchUp Pro 2016
I got an error message saying I need Ruby 2.2.0 or SketchUp 2017.
      Can I fix this?

    • RE: [Plugin] ClothWorks v1.8.0 - 28 Apr 2024

I don't know if I'll have time to do a lot with this, but I just bought it because watching what people have done with it, or just playing with it, is more fun than the movies.
      Great work Anton.

Can you post something that explains a bit of how it works? What are the factors that influence the simulation?

I was imagining using it in the design of tent structures and hanging structures. Knowing how it works would help in understanding how to use it and how good it would be for such structures.

Also, the "end" state would be most important in this case.

    • RE: [Plugin] Grow

      Hi Tig,
I just tried your plugin. very cool. However, it seems like I can't get it to do what I want. I want to offset a component by a fixed amount (this works fine) and have each element be a fixed amount taller (e.g. 6"). I only seem to get a fixed increment with a scaling factor of 1.0 and then the increment in height is equal to the height of the component.
Can I accomplish what I want with your plugin?

    • RE: How to install surveytool plugin in SketchUp 2015?

I have been using this tool in SU 8 and SU 2015.
A search of the plugin store doesn't find it.
I thought I got it through SketchUcation. Did SketchUcation use to have it? And now gone?

    • RE: [Plugin] Roof.rb

      Hi,
I just installed the latest version.
I made a simple rectangle. Selected the face.
      Went to Plugins>Roof>Hip
no matter what combination of parameters I use I get a message saying:
      "Hipped Roof Error.
It was not possible to make a single pitch hipped roof from this face."

      What could be the problem.

Using SketchUp 8 Pro, Windows 8.1

    • RE: [Plugin] Layers Panel 1.2.1

      Re:
"It auto-updates the layer state of the current scene.
If you turn on or off a layer, it's saved in the scene.

Isn't that what I would want to happen??"

From my use I would not want that to happen. When I open a scene I frequently want to turn on and off other layers while I'm examining the model. I do not want those changes automatically made to the scene. If I want the changes, then I click "update". It would be VERY inconvenient for my use to have every layer I turn on or off added to the scene.

Is there a way to tell within Sketchup which version I am using?

    • RE: 2 active section planes

I experimented a bit with section planes in and out of groups.
This may be helpful to someone:
      Scene1.jpg
Here view cuts is off and you can see all planes.
      Scene1.jpg
Here view cuts is on. The orange planes are active. The active plane outside all groups doesn't cut through any of the groups.
      Scene3.jpg
In this case another plane outside all groups is made active. You can see that it doesn't affect 2 of the groups but it overrides the cut in Group2.
