Nice, but I have some doubts. Airships are very sensitive to wind, so, unless they are in a closed hangar, they should always face the wind, held by the nose. The nose crane should be on rails, to move around to keep the ship facing the wind, and the land structures should be drawn so as not to interfere with the movement ...

RE: Dome
Don't know how long it took, but probably less than you'd think, maybe twelve hours, in bits and pieces. It's very modular, one slice of 45 degrees, mirror once, rotate and copy three times. In the images I only show half, but obviously I can mirror the whole thing and get the complete interior.
I think this will be it for the time being, maybe I'll try to export it to Blender or Daz Studio and make a video ...

RE: Blender forum in sketchucation
I usually hop from sketchup (make) to Blender, and it is rather painless, apart some quirks. Blender accepts .dae rather well. Instead I've had problems with exports from Sketchup to DAZ Studio, which is strange, since both programs use .dae as the default format. Any idea?

From time to time I go back on my model of the Colosseum valley. Here is a new version of Venus and Rome, and the half dome of Maxentius basilica. The half dome was done thanks to the FFD tool.

RE: Build Rome
Well, I am trying some animations with rendering and textures, using Blender Cycles. All of the model has been built in sketchup, exported to Blender, dressed with textures and rendered in Blender Cycles. These are two stills, still working on the animation, will post it when ready.
