I use a png alpha image on all my 2d trees. This is what is concerning me. I'm sure I have done everything right as far as that goes. These objects worked fine on a image I did a few weeks ago.

Tree shadow problems
Sorry I put this in the wrong forum this morning so have repeated it here.
I'm having a problem with my Vray pluggin render. My trees have stopped rendering the alpha cutout in the shadows. I'm getting the shadow of the card not the tree. Does anyone know what the issue here is. I was wondering if it is file size. These are large files. 65meg plus.
My machine is an
i7 950
12g ram
Quadro 4000 card
I know the ram is limited by the 32bit program.
I'm using the default Vray render settings at the moment.
The tree file types are PNG format. -

RE: Vray for sketchup Tuts not current.
Thanks for the advise. I found what I ws looking for in the new features manual. Gives just enough info to get a handle on the rest of it.

Vray for sketchup Tuts not current.
Can any one tell me where I can get some Tuts for Vray for Sketchup. The current ones on the offical site look really out of date. I tried to make sense of the Reflection and bump map tuts last night and found the interface was very different from the current version of Vray I have. ( this is the most current build). So is there any current tuts on these subjects using the current interface including refraction? Or have I gone down the wrong path?

RE: Deciding on a Render....
Have a look at this site.
http://www.renderin.com/
It is a beta version of a very simple render. Even adds a sky to out door images. Great for doing fast renders. They say it will cost less than $200.00 when released. At the moment it is a Free beta. -
RE: Autocad import scale
Thankyou Tig.
I knew I was missing something. -
Autocad import scale
I'm sure this is an old topic but I did a search and could get an answer I need.
When I import a 20m cube from autocad to sketchup it ends up as a 6.1m cube. I have matched the units of both programs and still get the same result. Can some one tell me what is going on and how to sort it. When I scale the model up to size I get a texture problem. Scaling the autocad imported model to size causes the texture scales that don't match texture scales of additional parts I might add in sketchup. Basicly I end up with 2 texture sets for the completed model. Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong? -
RE: View being clipped.
Thanks for the reply Remus.
Is it better to work it Meters or Millimeters? -
View being clipped.
I'm having trouble with my view. When I edit a component
my view seems to have a clipping plane happening. It clips most of my model when I get close to it. As I pull away the model seems to come back like I'm pulling a clipping plane back.
Does anyone know what is going on?
