    • [Plugin] ARmedia Augmented Reality Plugin with Geo-location

      Hi All,

      I'm pleased to announce that we have just released the new version of the ARmedia Augmented Reality Plugin for SketchUp that supports Geo-location.

      [flash=600,362:26ec8ah6]http://www.youtube.com/v/C5_xjDbrbR4[/flash:26ec8ah6]

      The plugin works in association with the new version of the ARplayer for iOS. By means of the new ARPlayer for iOS users can now choose geo-location as a visualization option for their projects. This feature allows to use GPS coordinates to locate a 3D model/animation on the earth’s surface. The software then tracks the 3D model coordinates in the real space using a suitable sensor fusion technique. This makes it possible to display virtual models in the real world without any marker. In addition, users can freely move virtual models in the real environment using an intuitive interface to best fit them to their view.

      The Geo-localization feature extends the spectrum of visualization possibilities of the ARplugin in many application domains, including architecture, engineering and cultural heritage. The Geo-location feature is available in the ARplugin PRO v2.2

      You can find the plugin here

    • ARmedia Augmented Reality Player for iOS

      Hello,

      I'm happy to announce that the ARmedia Player is now available also for iOS devices.

      [flash=600,362:2ullq0jt]http://www.youtube.com/v/PVgN-C02-v8[/flash:2ullq0jt]

      Creating mobile augmented reality experiences has never been so easy.

      “ARmedia Player” is the first iOS application that allows users to interact with virtual models created by means of the popular ARmedia Plugin for SketchUp directly in the real physical space using AR (Augmented Reality) technology. The software is a general purpose player suitable for studying virtual prototypes of any kind in physical locations. In addition, it is a unique tool for presenting projects and ideas in many fields including Design, Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Education.

      [flash=600,362:2ullq0jt]http://www.youtube.com/v/qoJhBFqF3Gg[/flash:2ullq0jt]

      Main features include:

      (1) Touch the ARMedia icon to instantly augment your mobile view with the default 3D model.
      (2) Browse the models Library and make any model you like the default model. You can choose any model to view from the Library.
      (3) Add new models to the Library using iTunes, mails' attachments, links to models on the web or any file sharing app installed on your device.
      (4) Import your models directly from your preferred 3D modeling software including Google SketchUp via the ARMedia Plugin available for your personal computer.
      (5) When you look to the AR target image (available from the app's support page http://www.inglobetechnologies.com/iosplayer), the 3D model will appear on top of the AR target image.
      (6) Explore 3D models from any angle using the interactive AR interface. You can scale and rotate models freely using simple gestures.
      (7) You can easily adjust tracking settings to best fit your environmental conditions during AR visualization.
      (8) You can take a picture of the simulated image through the camera.
      (9) You can enjoy an immersive experience by moving around in the space that surrounds you, anywhere

      The iOS ARplayer is available for iPad2, iPhone and iPod Touch. It can be freely downloaded from Apple’s App Store and, as it works in association with the latest update of ARmedia Plugin Professional v2.2, it is offered for free to users who have already upgraded to v2.2 of the ARplugin.

    • Augmented Reality Plug-in v2.2 for Google SketchUp released

      Hello,
      I'm happy to announce that v2.2 of ARmedia Augmented Reality Plugin for SketchUp is now available from Inglobe Technologies

      [flash=600,362:fibpqktb]http://www.youtube.com/v/g4_G6VtCssI[/flash:fibpqktb]

      Among the vew features:

      • Linked Markers: it is now possible to display a single model on two or more markers, granting the possibility to display more efficiently the same object from different viewpoints*

      • Layers Management: 3D objects can be placed on different layers, which can be displayed independently during the AR visualization.

      • Timed Slideshow: you can organize your 3D contents to act as a set of slides. In fact, each layer can be displayed for a chosen time interval and then replaced with the following layer.

      • Real-time Shadows: you can now configure a light source to cast shadows on 3D objects, in order to obtain a more realistic visualization. Moreover, you can interact with this light source in real-time, moving it and modifying the shadows’ visualization.

      • Clipping/Sectioning: thanks to the Clipping planes’ management features, it is possible to create sections of 3D objects in real-time.

      Hello finalepkom,

      good to hear from you.

      @finalepkom said:

      i would like to ask you about removing the limit time, can i remove it?

      You are using the Demo version of the ARplugin. The Demo version does not allow to change the time limit in the AR visualization.
      This can only be removed by using the PLE (that is FREE) or Pro/Pro lite versions. In order to get to it, you have to

      1. buy/register for the software
      2. download it
      3. activate the license following installation/activation instructions

      @finalepkom said:

      and i can't loaded my video in ARMedia, whereas i already export video with .avi and support codec pack DiVX.. as results, just plane 3D when i chose object video..what should i do to make my video can be loaded when ARMedia ruuning?

      I'm not sure that I'm getting the point here. If you mean that you add the video but it does not show during the AR visualization then you probably don't have Quick Time installed. Please check and let me know.

    • RE: ARmedia Augmented Reality Plugin v 2.1 Released with new Fea

      Hello Tomas,
      the ARplayer is free also for some commercial uses, even though not every commercial use is allowed.

      Basically what you can do is:

      • let your clients download the ARplayer to interact with your 3d projects,
      • include the ARplayer and AR content in a product that is distributed for free (like for example a free magazine)

      On the other hand, what you cannot do according to the current license is:

      • use the ARplayer in a public kiosk (even though you can always use your ARplugin in kiosk applications)
      • include the ARplayer and AR content in a product intended for sale (like books and publishing products intended for sale in general)

      The inspiring principle is that one-to-one commercial transactions are allowed, whereas lucrative one-to-many transactions are subject to a different licensing model.

      Hope this helps

      Hi Tomas,
      sorry for the delay in answering.

      @mayan said:

      What is the difference between Lite and full version? Does absence of exporter means that I cannot send models to anyone who didnt buy a licence, so that it is only ME who can see AR model?

      So far the main difference between Pro-lite and Pro version is the ARexporter. Whereas the ARplugin Pro-lite is meant to improve the designer's workflow by means of suitable AR visualization tools that essentially work in close association with SketchUp, ARplugin Pro also allows you to create independent AR files that can be shared and viewed using the ARplayer, without the need of having SketchUp and the ARplugin installed. This does not mean that you cannot use the ARplugin Pro-lite for your business meetings or in public presentations.

      @mayan said:

      What are condiditons of EULA of personal learning edition?

      You can check by yourself by downloading the PLE. You only need to register on our website for this.

      @mayan said:

      If I buy commercial version, what about upgrades? Will they be for free or at what price?

      So far many of the current upgrades have been offered for free to ARplugin users. On the other hand, with our new development plan we are going to release a NEW version every year with new important features. For this reason we will introduce a more structured licensing model (probably starting from the next major release) that will include an upgrade fee or a maintenance fee. This new model will be especially targeted to those users who want to upgrade to the newest features without restrictions. The ongoing inclusion of ever new important features motivates the planned shift to a new licensing model, that is still under study.

      I hope this helps

      Hi atheross,

      luckily enough I had chance to read your message.

      Some users on Windows OS are actually reporting this problem. This happens because the installer sets some environment variable and Windows, sometimes, requires to restart the system. Once they restart the system everything goes as expected. Have you already tried to restart the computer? In case you have not, please, check if this is a solution. Otherwise, send an email to our support team at http://www.inglobetechnologies.com and you will surely get assistance.
