And the resolution of the bitmap is..??
Reason for asking is that if it's high (I.e. not only 72 dpi) then you can go up to A4 at least...
Also - have you tried resizing the image in PS..??

Really nice, Solo...
I'm interested to learn more about how you've managed to apply the texture in SU (or perhaps you've used another application for this purpose..??
)
Also - would you mind sharing the two boulders - now that you've made them...
There's no need to reboot when using KT for Mac...
Have you seen any of the tutorials available..??
If not, I encourage you to do so...

I am not learned in KT at this moment and wanted to know how easy would it be to set up just the interior with lights, textures and reflections in KT and make all work consols a component which can be instanced in the KT GUI?
That would definitely be possible...
After having applied materials you can group the models and then use the instancing to populate it...
I would like to help you further, Pete, but please let me know where you're having difficulties and I will do my best to explain how to take it further...
That came out really nice, Nick..!!
But the render time...
Have you tried with another preder preset..?? One of the PM settings..??

But you cannot replace the dummies in an automated way while instancing, can you?
Not automated - but in KT you right click the "dummy" instance and then you can replace it with another instance...
But we are working on a more automated process...

The extension jpg has been deactivated and can no longer be displayed
I wonder why...???
Hi All,
This was just a quick scene I did, inspired by a picture I saw in a furniture catalog...
(the original image which inspired me can be found on page 18-19 in this catalog...)
The modeling took about 3 hours, and the set-up in KT took less than 10 minutes...
It rendered while I was a sleep for app. 8 hours using render preset no. 17 (PTP) and then I added a subtle touch of Bloom and the KT logo in a post pro...

Original render image size 1200 x 830 can be seen here

Original SU image size 1200 x 830 can be seen here
Thanks for your answer, Andre!
SU is very poor when it comes to handle high poly models (like good 3D trees), so I assumed that it was instanced models/components...
Thanks, Remus!
Looks very nice and will definitely be used in future projects...

i am assuming i can replace the boxes in any good rendering application, right?. is this notion valid for people and vehicles too?
It works with whatever kind of model you want to insert...
I use it very often together with KT...
I.e. in SU I place 2D trees, which allows me to generate some previews before I render...
When exporting using the SU2KT, I can export the 2D trees as instances and in KT these instances are being replaced by instanced 3D Xfrog trees...
This way the 2D trees have a function as "dummies" allowing me to orbit the scene/model in SU and then when I render the scene in KT, they're being replaced by Xfrog trees, which would be almost impossible to handle in SU... (in particular if there's more than one...)
Hi Koosie,
What render preset have you been using..??
The images look very CG to me and not like photo realistic renders...
Also - I've noted that you render with black background...
Have you tried one of the spherical Globals available at the KT site..??
I'm sure that if you use a render preset above no. 6 and also use one of the Globals your renders will look much better...
Impressive..!!

The trees... Have you placed these in SU..??

I guess my question, then, is can I essentially get the exact same look that my sketchup animation gives me and utilize KT's farming capabilities?
Unfortunately not...
Kerkythea is a photo realistic render program using biased and unbiased methods...
Hi Brodie,
I'm going to start from what you've been writing last in your post...
@unknownuser said:
I'm perfectly happy w/ the quality of sketchup's animation (i'm not interested in getting too deep into textures and photorealism), I just wish it were faster.
I'm not exactly sure why you're asking about this here at the Kerkythea section...?!?
Kerkythea IS a render application capable of making Β΄photo realistic renders...
But you are able to set-up a render farm using KT...
Please visit the KT Forum and make a search on network rendering...
