I'm watching Chaos group courseware. In lesson 3, Main modules, at 14:10, there's a material applied to a wall which has a scale that has to be corrected in sketchup for the scale. However the texture is not applied as a diffuse but as a bump map. One has to find a bump map, click on the eyeball and then the texture size can be fixed in sketchup. Tutorial than says to click on the eyeball again and turn off the visibility of the material.
As soon as I turn it off the texture scale goes back. Am I doing something wrong?

RE: Vray rectangle light does not match in model and in render
Thanks for pointing that out! However Differences appear to be much smaller, almost negligible than what it appears when rendered. I fixed it but the result seems the same. I wonder if something can be wrong with Vray light plane geometry. Did I do something wrong scaling it? I'd like not to repeat the same thing in complex scenes.

RE: Vray rectangle light does not match in model and in render
Thanks for the reply ecati however I think in my drawing both are on the same plane and positioned exactly the same like in yours. When I redraw it the problem is gone, however I'd like to know the cause of the problem in order not to happen in the future. I scaled the plane using scale tool. Could that be the reason?

Vray rectangle light does not match in model and in render
I'm doing some vray lights analysis to clarify some things for myself. I placed a Vray plane light to a window (on the inside) however in render the position of the plane does not match the placement. Seems that the plane has gone to the left and I can see the black outside (turned off the Sun Light and Environment). What am I doing wrong?

RE: Triple click not working with outliner open
I'm sorry for my ignorance. What do you suggest? ZIP? 7zip?

RE: Triple click not working with outliner open
@Box. It was less than 1MB in the middle of the work. Meanwhile I carry on the work and came to around 2MB.

I don't get this?@slbaumgartner In the meanwhile I saved a model without fixing the issue. When I opened it again it doesn't report any problems but the triple click (and outliner blinking) problem is still present.

RE: Triple click not working with outliner open
I just tried to save a model and got this message:
Results of Validity Check.
*** Problems were found that could not be fixed! ***The entity at address 84c9fc00 has an invalid id (0) destroyed (0)
The model can be saved even without fixing the issue.

Triple click not working with outliner open
I'm working in a file that's less than 1mb in size. It's a model with with 1200 components and 45 groups. At one point I noticed that triple click is not working - not selecting the whole connected geometry. Double click does work. It is worth mentioning that outliner and the contents blink on every mouse click. What's more interesting is that triple click works when I minimize (close) outliner.
I opened a new blank drawing and everything works fine. I assume there's something in the model causing this behavior. Any ideas?

Exploding groups and components does not go to layer0
I encountered a problem with layers when exploding groups and components. When I create a simple box and make it a group (or component), then move it to a custom made layer and then explode - loose geometry will not go to Layer0 but to the layer assigned to that group. Interestingly, before exploding a group, if I enter the group for editing, faces and edges are on the layer0. However once exploded they don't go to layer0.
Is that default setting or something is wrong with my SU? Btw, I'm using SU PRO 2017. -
RE: A Welcome Message to New SketchUcation Members
Hi everyone.
I'm new to SketchUp but starting to grasp the things. I have some very basic experience with 3D modelling so my learning curve will be quite steep.
Thanks for your time
