    • RE: [Tips] Animator Tips and Tricks

      Hi there!

When dealing with kinematics, it's very useful to be able to graphically manage speeds instead of positions (slope of positions law)
I see that a lot of non-linear laws are availables during a movement, but as far I understand, it's only useful between 2 keyframes.
When dealing with more keyframes within a same general movement, I didn't manage to have some smooth transitions...

      Here is a simple case:
Let's say we want to animate a car, constant speed (100km/h) between KF#1 and KF#2.
Then it decelerates between KF#2 and KF#3 so that it reaches another constant speed (50km/h) from KF#3 up to KF#4.
I didn't manage smooth transitions without generating some weird stuff...
Is there some kind of tricks using available non-linear laws?

      Thanks!

    • RE: Move Animations Between Files?

      @fredo6 said:

      Not Really.

All data for the animation is stored within the model and objects (as attributes).

So a Save-As or Save-Copy-As will keep the data, but there is no way to transfer the animation data between files. The reason is that all the references (i.e. entity ID) would be different.

Is there a particular situation where such a data transfer would make sense?

Yes there is, create a ready-to-use pre-animated objects (just like a Twinmotion for instance):
=> wind turbines, cars (with consistent wheel rotation), animated crane/excavator....

      Thanks (your plugin is awesome!)

    • Animator import / export

      Hi there!

Is it possible to export / import an animated object?
I've tried a simple copy/paste, but it seems that it doesn't work...
It would be awesome to be able to generate a library of pre-animated objects ready-to-use in our new models. 😎
=> examples: wind turbines, car translation with correct rotating wheels...

      Thanks!

    • RE: [Plugin] Import OBJ with Materials v2.1 20131118

      Hi TIG!
Thank you so much for the plugin.
I finally installed old frecle Tree[D] that I had downloaded when still available... I think it's great and easy to use to generate 3d trees, so your plugin is perfect to be able to import OBJ + Material into my sketchup 2016.
Tree[D] is still a MUST HAVE in 2016 or there´s new stuff? vs 3D Tree Maker? Free is better...

    • RE: How to apply texture to follow the shape?

      Great tool, thanx TT!

One question though: is there a way to automatically create quad faces on non-quadface planar surface (you seem to do it manually from 1:32 to 1:50).

Two classical examples are: extruded plywood chair (such as in your example), or follow me road.

I would like to avoid draw lines to make quad faces on the road surface or chair border. Is it possible?
It could be very long process, and your tool seem to do great complicated things (likely to 3DSMax), and this simple thing seems not to exist... Maybe not that easy to program though!!

    • RE: [Plugin] Compo Spray 1.4.2 Updated

How I manage to make it work on SU 2013, here in Spain (with bloody accents everywhere...)

1- Copy/Paste CompoSpray folder + .rb in Plugins file as usual
2- Remove all .lingvo but CompoSprayUS.lingvo

and it works perfectly ! Nada más....

      😍

      Hi there,
I do not see any window when clicking on Draw / Compo spray (SU 2013)...
      Any idea ?
      Thanx

    • RE: Is it Possible to put a Texture to V-plane?

Thanx a lot, it´s first time I see the answer !!

To be more precise, and for those who work in other units than inches like in Europa, let's take an example :

Wood parquet floor in SU : go and check texture size by clicking on Edit in SU Materials.
I work in cm, so it tells me : 304.8 cm x 121.9 cm.

You convert in inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm), or for lazy bums, you go and change units in Model info / units.

So it turns that texture size is 120" x 48".
Take the smaller value, and inverse : 1/48 = 0.02

      Fill in Repeat on 3 axis (even though this a 2D image) : X 0.02, Y 0.02 Z 0.02
      And that´s it !
