    • RE: [Plugin] Boolean--OSCoolean (Dec 2013) for SU 8 up free ver

I just stumbled over this great plugin. πŸ˜„ A version for SketchUp 2014 would be very handy.
      Thanks in advance!

    • Components vs. groups

I am trying to create a model environment for kids (they are between 9 and 11 years old). It should work like building with bricks (e.g. TinkerCad).
AFAIK it works as long as the kids do not modify the components. If they only place them on the workplane and scale them, everything is OK. Is there a way that they get always groups?

      Any ideas?
      Regards, Kurt

    • RE: Elliptic Gears

Unfortunately the plugin "Compnent Stringer" won't work for this kind of problem. Especially if you are interessted in a proper solution. For makers and tinkerers the plugin and also my way are good enough. πŸ˜‰

      Thanks for replying πŸ˜„

@gilles & by Gaieus: I will take a look at these two plugins. Hope they do the job. πŸ‘

you need a way to accomodate changes in axis distance

Yes, I am aware of that. πŸ˜‰ Take a look at http://skfb.ly/5k3ecba. A rubber band will press the smaller gear towards the elliptic gear.
You get the point: Dealing with gears is quite challenging. But

      @Pilou
I am not bothered by all of the 38 parameters. πŸ˜‰

I know this tool. It seems promising. πŸ˜„ But the guy has not decided yet, how he wants to publish it. By now there is no export format.

    • Elliptic Gears

I was looking for a plugin, that helps generating elliptic gears. As long as I do standard gears, I am fine with the involute gear plugin. So I sliced two different gears and merged them (see image below). But is there a proper way to generate an elliptic gear?

    • Time lapse - image recorder

      Is beside this plugin: http://rhin.crai.archi.fr/rld/plugin_details.php?id=325
a camera recorder available, which exports images continously (e.g. every second) to a folder? It would be nice having the option to set the framerate.

    • 3D-Printing

I want to prepare the model below for 3D printing. The haus was build without interior design, just a shell. When I order a print from Shapeways I get a totally filled model and therefore it turns out very expensive. Is there a plugin available where I can set something like a wall thickness (let's say 1mm)? Something like this would help very much, because I'm to lazy to do all the modelling by hand. πŸ˜‰

      Thanks
      Kurt
