Thank you so much! This is better than the AutoCAD stretch. Can't wait to really get into using it.

Thanks. This is simply amazing. Fredo6 you are too kind!

RE: {NPR} Garden Barn
Really nice Tinanne! I love the sketchy style here. Something you don't see much any more.

RE: Chair (again)
Yes. This maybe a simple model but with the textures here it make the model look so much more rich.

RE: Kitchen Island Storage
Nice one Chedda. Finally I get to see what a descent Maxwell for Sketchup post looks like. Beautiful lighting job. Are these all native Maxwell textures or are these Sketchup textures edited in Maxwell? By the way... Turning in soon. I am in eastern standard time.

RE: Modeling and rendering (update 2013.08.02)[watch last page]
Wow Edenux I think all of these are great. But what is going on with the carpet tiles/ mats/ pillows on the floor of the interior model of the third group? Your renderings are amazing but when I saw the tiles I was puzzled. Never saw anything like that before. Great modeling too.

yeah, agreed.. they are a bit low. blame the interior designer!
Yes, I fully understand. I had that happen to me before too. I completed a Hampton Inn "Perfect Mix Lobby Interior" and the interior designer changed chairs out on me after I designed a permanent (millwork) table for lobby space. The chairs where too tall for the people to get their legs under it and the table was already on their way to the shop for production. What can you do? Nice work though!

RE: First Look at a CryEngine 3 level buildings designed with SU
Krisidious and ken28875: If I may, There is one really nice package that is about 1/2 way between Lumion3D and Revizto and that would be LumenRT from E-onsoftware which just released there version 4 of the visualization software. It is now just outside my price range at $795 and $995 which is now significantly less than Lumion3Dbut the last time I used it it took a ling time to create the live cube but if you get the $995 version you can send the client a live cube and when they open it they get a "file" that they can walk through with (now) crowds, cars, swaying trees birds dogs and the like. Problem is those file can get up to as big and as complicated as your model so it won't be uncommon to send a 8MB livecube to somebody. At the bottom end of the spectrum is Render[in] which will allow you to create "Ivisit3D" file that won't have animation but you can do 360 degree panoramas with various station points at $168! And somewhere above those is IRender nXt which now offers a multi-platform license between AutoCAD, Sketchup and Revit I think for $699 or just a Sketchup version for $599 which allows you to do short videos, panoramas (from only one spot though) stills and NPR renderings and with trees and ground cover. Also at $99 if you still use Sketchyphysics, I thing the latest version of Twilight cab still tender that and the latest version can now also do single point panoramas. The key is how much time do you have to set up a model so that a client can walk through it? Can you charge for the cost of the software in your fee? finally are you looking to relay a concept or a true virtual experience?
SDF: I like your images a lot. A lot of work went into this; thanks for sharing. Will you continue to texture the buildings? Where did you do the texturing? Was that in the game engine or Sketchup before exporting? I love those balcony rails! What did you do them in? Really nice.

Yeah.... It's like... Wow... Like amazing...... I'm speechless. I love the "boards" at the top of the post. Wonderful presentation... All 40+ of them. Thank you for sharing.

RE: Whiskey Bar
Nice space but I think your drink tables should be a bit higher. You will hit your knees on these when you move them.

RE: Kitchen
I agree with cuttingedge. I also agree with the window comments. The big thing I have an issue with are the pendant lights. Nicely modeled but the finish is also a bit matted. Add some reflection and it would be killer.

RE: School Sections
Yes, I must agree. I haven't seen this since hand drawing with pen and ink was popular. Some of our architectural 'perspectivist' may remember this. These look great! I Like the simplicity of the sections. Nice work.

RE: Iolani Palace WIP
Wow! Daniel these are incredible. Yes, it has been years since I have touched HABS drawings and the biggest thing to remember about them is that most of these were completed long before CAD and so when you model them three dimensionally you find that, back then, sometimes if a dimension was modified the draftsman would not actually change the object or follow that change throuhevery section and elevation or only change the number of the dimension. This is why SketchUp, Revit and ArchiCAD are so popular now. these programs force you to work in 3 dimensions. What you have completed here is not only really nice modeling but your first two images you show here are as beautiful as some of the "framed" HABS drawings I have seen when I worked for the government years ago! Bravo!

Wow this is a perfect 3D alignment tool. It's like drop in three dimensions and the plane doesn't even need to be flat! Great for cars on hills and landscape! Thanks!

RE: [Plugin]Extend Trim Faces.rb(Mar27,2013.)
Wow Thanks! it's like doing 2D CAD in 3d. This should be in the base commands! Extremely useful!
