A really excellent render and use of post pro.

It has a great feel about it, the sky and trees work so well and not to mention I love the architecture.

David, where did you get the timber siding material from? I'm about to start modeling a design of mine that I was planning a similar style timber.

Autodesk have released Sketchbook Mobile App for the iPhone.
It works pretty well and has some excellent features.

    • 3D Models on iPhone

I have just had a look at 3Dvia Mobile App for the iPhone.
It is currently free and allows the viewing of 3d models, although skp is not included.
I did try a Collada export. It works, but all the materials do not stay. I guess it would be ok for a massing model for showing a client.

The 3d controls are pretty good.

    • RE: Apple Magic Mouse and SketchUp?

I am sure it will work beautifully, just like the touch pad on my MacBook Pro, but I cannot imagine it will be great with SU.

I need lots of buttons so I shall stick with my fantastic Logitech Revolution.

There are a few important features missing from the Mac version which are on the PC that I would like to see implemented.

I guess the Mac version has the odd thing the pc guys would like also!

    • RE: How do you set up a decent viewpoint for a render

The way I do it with a scene like this is use the Position Camera command and choose a point from above the scene in the corner of the room.
You can then use the Look Around command to get the correct view.
I would play around with FOV. In the attached image and skp, I have set it to 50, but you can use whatever you feel looks best.
Once you have things setup as you need, create a Scene so you can get back to your view anytime.

    • RE: V-Ray Office Exterior Shot

Great composition with some very nice touches.

      The road material looks excellent.

If you add the trees on PS, how do you get the nice shadows, is there a simple workaround for this?

I would have moved the power line columns closer to the fence to allow people past, but that's a minor point πŸ˜„

      Nice work Sid.
I really enjoy projects like this from an architecture and modeling point of view.

I like the choice of timber cladding and breaks you have introduced in to it.

It would be far nicer if you actually asked how these shapes are made and not ask everyone to always model them for you.
