Hello everyone,
I have been looking for a quicker way to draw up floor plans for SketchUp for some time. I have just discovered the 2D Architectural toolset in ViaCAD. It allows me to easily drop in window and door symbols and can optionally create a multi section wall instantly. After exporting this floor plan as a dwg/dxf, I am then ready to get to work in SU.
(By the way, if you fancy trying this, you will need to select your drawing in ViaCAD and then Edit >Change Object Type >Polygons before exporting the DWG from ViaCAD, or it won't import correctly).
Is anyone else using ViaCAD for this? I just wanted to share this, as it seems a good partner for SU and it's letting me get to work in SU quicker. Cheers.

You might find it worthwhile checking out Sketchup Show #27 on You Tube which is about modelling a chair in photo match.

RE: I need help purchasing sketchup pro - as in a miracle
Hi Christopher,
I am pleased to see you got the help from Google that you hoped for.
I have to say though, I feel one forum member has taken some unfair criticism for saying what I believe many reading your first forum posting felt.In regard to your original posting, I have spent the past decade working in design for the auto makers.
I would recommend that you contact suppliers to the auto makers rather than the car companies themselves. Trust me, the kind of HUD you are referring to will come from a supplier. I hope they may help you.See the links for supplier examples:

RE: Augmented Reality Plug-in for MAC OSX - BETA version
Hi Graziano,
I restarted my mac but configure is still not responding.
Unfortunately, I can't try it on Leopard as I am using Tiger (10.4.11).
If you can let me know the manual fix I'll give it a try.Regards, domus

RE: Augmented Reality Plug-in for MAC OSX - BETA version
I firstly tried to install under my user account with an administrator password, but installation gave an error message each time.
Required me to be logged in under an administrator account to install.http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/posting.php?mode=reply&f=80&t=17908#
Program partly installed, but then configure will not respond to double-clicking, so I cannot complete installation. http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/posting.php?mode=reply&f=80&t=17908#
I am running OS X 10.4.11 on an Intel imac.I will try again on a later beta.http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/posting.php?mode=reply&f=80&t=17908#

RE: Project photo bug (photo match)
This was happening to me also, thanks for the explanation guys. I just wanted to add that when you get the resulting split faces as shown in image 4, if you just delete the large & small faces and then trace over one of the edges on the large face you will end up with the 2 faces again!
You need to show the hidden geometry under View>Hidden Geometry and delete the edges of the small face also. When you now retrace one of the edges of the large face you will get 1 large face again. Hope this is helpful to any newbies reading this, especially if an undo is not practical.

Thanks for explaining that Gaieus, it sounds like job boards and forums don't mix!

Are the SU job boards any good?
Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum and have become a devotee of SU over the past year.
I was recently looking at job listings on this forum and in particular, at the Google site.
These job sites tend look like the spam folder of my inbox. I am wondering does anyone here bother listing their modelling services in this way?
Perhaps there is no harm in it, because it's free to list yourself there? Anyone had any success with these job boards?Cheers, domus.
