Sorry guys but i did not understand one bit of that. I know nothing about photography and I was lost very quickly. Can you point me in the direction of articles to help me understand this better. It would be very good to know how to do this for future images. Thanks for your help.

RE: Do we have a Joke Thread goin here?
Even the cat lovers amongst you will find this very funny. If you don't laugh at this one, you're not breathing...
A firefighter was working on the engine outside the station, when he noticed a little girl nearby in a little red wagon with little ladders hung off the sides, and a garden hose tightly coiled in the middle.
The girl was wearing a firefighters helmet. The wagon was being pulled by her dog and her cat. The firefighter walked over to take a closer look.'
That sure is a nice fire truck,' the firefighter said with admiration. 'Thanks,' the girl replied. The firefighter looked a little closer. The girl had tied the wagon to her dog's collar and to the cat's testicles.
'Little partner,' the firefighter said, 'I don't want to tell you how to run your rig, but if you were to tie that rope around the cat's collar, I think you could go faster.'
The little girl replied thoughtfully, 'You're probably right, but then I wouldn't have a siren.' (apologies to all cat lovers!)

RE: Twilight baby steps
Hi 02bwin
That looks like a great first effort. I am very impressed by this. Lighting is everything in these renders and I think you maybe left it short of light in the background which is distracting from the content of the image. Great first effort though.

RE: Fun little project...
Tom
I am totally blown away by these - they look like Piranesi output - didnt know Twilight could do that style of render - I thought it was PR! Your trees are really fantastic in these images by the way. Well Done

Photomatch Problem
Hi All
I am trying to do my first photomatch. A client has asked me to make a bed similar to the one she saw in a website. I am trying to do a dimension takeoff from the drawing to get it modelled. This is my first attempt at photomatch and I have watched alot of videos online to understand the process. I think I have followed all instructions but for some reason the axes will not line up properly for me to draw the model acurately. WHat am I doing wrong? My monitor is very lucky to be alive at this stage. I have tried numerous times to get this but have failed each time. I attach the picture for your advice.

RE: 3D Basecamp 2010!!!!!
If you are a UK or Irish citizen, you do not have to pay. My wife was in South Carolina in May and she had to fill in an online visa checking form and they give you a green light almost immediately. You should not have to pay anything Liam. Who told you that you had to pay? Are they legitimate?

RE: Latest Kitchen
Thanks for all the comments and critiques - The Colour was the choice of my client - NOT ME!!
It is not lilac either and she loves it - she is the only one who loves it - but she paid me for my job and thats all that I care about.
I apologise if this bumps this thread - consider it dead now.

RE: Heading into First Nations Territory at 5AM
Great shots - I love how you have got the rising(?) sun stiking the mountain only and illuminating it! Brilliant.

RE: Latest Kitchen
I will be using photoshop to change the colour in the photograph to something more pleasing to the eye. Thanks for all the comments on the kitchen. Hope to do more of these soon!
@rich24As for my health my artery is still blocked and I am doing a treadmill test next week to see if it is worth going for surgery to unblock it. It is a branch off one of the major arteries and the body has remarkably rechannelled a blood supply to the area of the heart which was being supplied by the blocked artery. There are some risks involved with the surgery and they want to weight them up against the treadmill data to see how necessary the surgery maybe (medication could do the job over time). Fingers crossed I wont need the knife!! Thanks for your concern.
P.S. Jealous as hell about the Basecamp (Jammy gits!)

Finally got a photo of the finished room - her idea of what the colour violet is, and mine, are a wee bit different - I want her to change it - what do the rest of you think?

RE: [Help] Wooden floor in Bathroom??
Hi Rich
Sorry for the late reply and bumping the thread again. I have been away recovering from a wee heart attack!! I have a lot of experience in laying floors of all types and TIG has provided some sterling advice (as usual, I might add). Just one thing to be careful of with this type of flooring if you are going to varnish / lacquer the tongue and groove edges is that you dont layer it on thick as it might interfere with the jpoint (ie prevent you from being able to put the tongue into the groove after it has been glued). This has happened to me in the past due to badly machined timber and it is a feckin nightmare - you have to get the glue completely cleaned off using a wet rag and then dried down.
Also whenyou are gluing the floor make sure you get a continuous bead of glue along the joint to form perfect seal agaist water ingress. If you don not get squeeze out along the full length of the plank then there is a gap into which water will go, especially in a bathroom.
Good luck.

RE: [Poll] Have you been invited to 3D Basecamp 2010?
Just been invited but had to decline - health (just recovering from a mild heart attack) and finances (or lack of!!). Would dearly love to be going but got a lovely kick in the chest over a fortnight ago and my docs have advised me to rest for a month or two. I have been checking in every once in a while to make sure you've all been behaving yourselves. I would have loved to have met up with some of you guys and had a pint or two with you but alas it will have to wait till Mike organises a "seisun mor" here in Ireland!!!

RE: Trans-Atlantic Fan Fund for Basecamp 2010
I would be glad to send any of the Global Moderators - they have an excellent grasp of the main issues we are encountering. I just cant believe that with the money Google make, they couldn't host a web based basecamp for the minions
