RE: CutList Bridge version 2.2 released
Thanks for this plugin - long waiting for something like this!!
But there is a problem with encoding - I'm using cyrillic names inside SketchUp - components, materials, sub-assembly, file name and etc. When exporting for Excel/OpenOffice I get a wired file name -
@unknownuser said:кирилица_тесС(for Excel/OpenOffice)‚.csv
. The same when exporting for CutList Plus fx -
@unknownuser said:кирилица_тесС(for CutList fx)‚.csv
When importing the .cvs in CutList Plus fx the names are also wired -
I have to change the encoding from UTF-8 to Unicode for CutList Plus fx to properly recognize the names. Here are the files:

The preceding suggestion was apparently not meant to be advice on how to act on the VRML material.
Should I interpret this to mean that there is no conversion from WRL files to SketchUp?
You can use Blender to open vrml files and then export as colada or 3ds to import in SketchUP.

VisCAM View
@unknownuser said:
VisCAM View is a very easy-to-use and efficient tool to view, check, measure and communicate STL files.
With VisCAM View you can visualise and check your 3D models in a very fast and efficient way. Errors like unconnected edges, flipped triangles, or unjoined solids are directly shown on the model. Cross-section views are available to inspect and analyse the model interior. Additional model information like dimensions, the surface area or the volume of the model can be retrieved at any time. An extensive set of measuring and annotation functions supports the analysis of model details and enriches the model with visual information. The annotated 3D model can be exported with the compressed VisCAM VFX format and exchanged with all other VisCAM products. Moreover the VFX file export allows you to reduce the STL file size by more than 90%.
VisCAM View is available as freeware and is therefore best qualified to become your standard tool for STL file verification, data exchange and communication with your customers and colleagues.

RE: Importation from 3D Studio Max or AutoCAD
You can try this - download the free FBX Converter and convert .dxf to .fbx, then convert .fbx to colada or .obj and then import in SketchUP.

It would be nice to keep Us informed how are You progressing with SketchUp and CNC - there is not much first hand info!

RE: HELP!! Building cabinets.
Fully disagree!! There are so many videos, books and tutorials about SketchUP that if You want to learn You will learn! And this forum is an example for a helpful community!

RE: Can sketch up be imported to alias?
NURBS modeling - like Rhino. Exchange with SketchUP via .dxf or .fbx

RE: Skinning a curve

Yep, that's what I did...exploded the arcs then used Recurve.
Ooops - Diggsey just updated the plugin and now it stitches arcs!

No, I couldn't use Follow Me...because the path is not a semi-circle at the bottom...only at the top.
Strange about weld...must be a conflict with something else. It'll close the curve etc; it just won't weld. But then Recurve does so much more so it's kind of redundant now. Much appreciation to Rick, all the same.But if You try to stitch say two arcs, Recurve doesn't work - You need weld for this, or first explode and then recurve,

RE: Table Material question.
Leave it to the end - won't distracting You from the modeling process, lighter file size to work with and at the end when start painting You will see the whole picture.
