Always update your Layout file with the actual scene from sketchup. If you render it as "modified (sketchup view name)", then you will not get the true updated scene you saved in Sketchup. If you have ill-advisedly set 'X' OR '*' as a shortcut then typing x10 or *10 will jump out of the copying and go to the X-tool or *-tool. The alternative is therefore to type 10x because if its at the end the X is still taken as part of the array command... Of course after the first copy is made, then you must press <enter> after typing the number+x otherwise how is the tool to know when you have finished typing...
