      I can“t believe I didn“t update.

The topic is locked, I cannot edit posts so if a moderator can replace Round Edge - v1.0 (by Bezier) with this one:

By the way, anyone who have some Skin or loft case could post or send me the skp model, so that I can get a wider sampling on the infinite number of cases that can be covered with this type of functions.

A long time ago I make this with Chris Fullmer“s Simple Loft:
      Loft.gif
      Here I attach the .skp:

Do you think that your plugin will work for cases like this?:

I take the images from this video:

Also for future versions of the plugin will be great a blend tool:

      Alternative solution:
I see that you have Whaat“s "subdivide and smooth". Use the knife tool (a.k.a. zorro) in parallel projection. Also you can group the faces you don“t want to divide:

      Awesome plugin Kirill!!!

Will be possible to add control points automatic to have this results?
      If you select a line:
      Deform in SU 1.gif
      If you select a face:
      Deform in SU 2.gif

PS: I suppose that ask to add automatic slicing to entities like Fredoscale does (Bend, Twist...) would be asking too much?

I just repeated your illustrated 'problems' and found that the inference snap to either a line or cline works fine for me with Rotate ?

Can you try the example I attach TIG?
In the file you will see two angulated elements coupled by their center pivot point. Try to put the outer pivots of the red angulated element in the red line like the .gif in the first post.
      I can“t make it work.
      inferenceonrotate.skp

Even if I make a circle with 1000 sides I can“t guarantee that The angulated element will be in the correct position.
      singarantia.JPG

Another possible solution.. but don“t know if it possible with ruby is to add Constraints to the model.
Click in the image to see the animated .gif:
      Constraint 3D.gif
This was done with sketchyphysics. The problem is precision because I need the center pivot point at specific distances.

    • (Required) Point inference On Edge when Using rotate tool

The On Edge or On line inference indicates a point that lies along an edge. The On Edge or On Line (on construction lines) inference (represented by a red square) is not working when you are using the rotate tool.
I don“t know if this is a bug or if it“s done by design.

But the On Edge inference point would be very useful when using the rotate tool.
      NoInferenceOnEdge1.gif
      Desired result:
      Inference should appear.jpg
      Another quick example:
      NoInferenceOnEdge2.gif
Is possible to find this point with ruby?

      Fredo...

Changing the axes has no effect in your inference system.. it still uses the standard axes.

      GrƔfico1.jpg
Look that the standard SU tools are not using the original orientation of the axes.
Is there a way to choose that Tools on Surface can use the user defined axes instead the standard ones?

Make that line divided and weld into a curve [best if it has same number of segments as the path?]

I tried to do that but the plugins dosen“t like a line as a rail.
Good tip to divide the line and then weld to make it work šŸ˜

I also like a lot the option to make it work with closed curves.. looks like a patch tool.

Perhaps in a future we can have a n-sided patch tool inside SketchUp šŸŽ‰

How about an option to maintain height?
In your script shape curves scale in both the height and width dimensions. It will be great to have an option to remove the association between the height scaling from the width scaling for some models.

As an example: here is what your script make:
      2.gif

      And here with Maintain height:

      What is Go?

Go is a new experimental systems programming language intended to make software development fast. The goal is that a major Google binary should be buildable in a few seconds on a single machine. The language is concurrent, garbage-collected, and requires explicit declaration of dependencies. Simple syntax and a clean type system support a number of programming styles.

I don“t see other function related to playing with Bounding boxes. But actually I use a lot this plugins to generate groups:

      Explode2Groups.rb (TIG)
      http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=15421

UnfoldPart1.rb (TIG) (It“s a very old script.. it was the first step for a unfold plugin but is very handy in lot of models)
"Select a group containing faces and choose 'Unfold Part 1' from the Plugins menu. The faces become separate groups(...)"

They are very usefull and very effective.. but in some situations you need to generate the groups not aligned to the axes.

When you make a group with SketchUp the bounding box will be always aligned to the axes.
With this plugin you can choose the orientation of this bounding box but only for making deformations.
Is it possible to make the script work to group the geometry with the selected user orientation box?
