    • Different auto-generation of the same texture?

      Hi there,

      I'm really not sure if this is even possible - but it might actually be really simple!

      Here's the setup:

      1. I've created an object which I've then turned into a component and copied many times to create a matrix of the same component. (To clarify, they are all copies of each other so whatever I do to one, does it to all the others)

      2. I've created a very simple v-ray texture which consists of a "noise" diffuse layer using two colours; red and dark red. (so it creates a sort of simple "dappled" effect of red and dark red).

      3. I've assigned that material to the component (which in turn has then copied across to all the other identical components)

      The problem with this is that the material generates exactly the same on every copy of the component. So it doesn't look very good...

      Short of making EVERY component individual (there's 100s of them) and the assigning it a slightly different material position, is there any way of setting the v-ray material to effectively generate itself in a different position on each component. Thus that the dappled effect doesn't just repeat itself in the same position over and over again? i.e. same component, same material, just randomly generated slightly differently on each component?!

      Does that make sense?! πŸ˜•

    • Animating a dynamic object?!

      After many hours of scouring the internet for an answer, I still haven't found what I'm looking for so I am resorting to the wonderful Sketchucation! πŸ˜„

      Indeed, the answer may well be on here somewhere but I might not be searching for the right terminology! (sorry if that's the case).

      So, lets say you've made a house with dynamic windows and doors. You want to create an animation of walking in the front door. Is it not possible to animate the door opening while the camera moves through the doorway into the house?!

      I thought (hoped) it would be as simple as setting up a scene outside (with the door closed) and then the next scene with the door open and as you move from scene 1 to scene 2 the door just opens...

      I need a function to replace "OnClick" with something like "OnSceneTransition"!!!

    • RE: [Plugin] Qpik::SimpleRays v1.0.1

      How do I install this? I've moved the rbz file into the plugins directory but nothing appears in the program? Is it not compatible with SU2013?

      Does this work in SU2013? I can't seem to find out where the plugin is installed to! No errors appear when I install it...
