That's why God asked Abraham to sacrifice his only child?

At first, Abraham’s “child”, was not a “baby”, but a responsible young man who knew what it means to sacrifice to God.
God challenged Abraham to see who is on first place of his life, God or Isaac...
God decided not to let the Abraham to kill Isaac, and already prepared a ram to be sacrificed instead of that boy. (see Genesis, chapter 22)

Ever notice how the bible has many references to execution of babies?

‘Solo’, I have not found such exhortations... You're probably the only person ...

Biblical references on the “execution” of little children are given as NEGATIVE EXAMPLES!

Should the People have the power to license child births?

Children are a “reward from God” - not people give them to each other... But, He who gives the gift, does not force receiving it! For example, the salvation/redemption is a huge gift, but God does not compel anyone to receive it, and there are so many people who refuse ...!

      Many will regret bitterly...!

I'd like to swing this topic in the direction of the End of the Financial World as we know it. The IMF are now saying that the Financial World as we know it is is deep trouble.
      ........................................
I honestly think that there is a major collapse coming soon that will be the End of the World as we know it! The question is what will, or should replace it.

Mike, do you think it might have any connection with this text:
“ He ( the beast) required everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to be given a MARK on the right hand or on the forehead. And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name. Wisdom is needed here. Let the one with understanding solve the meaning of the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is 666.” (Revelation 13:16-18)

...or categorically reject such a possibility?!

Yes Pete, water shortage is quickly becoming a major worry.

Oil is abundant in the Middle East and in North African countries...
The world's largest reserves of drinking water are under the sands/deserts of North Africa countries...
European countries have stringent (and in the long term... ) need of oil and water so that they will reorganize and will form, together with other countries around the Mediterranean Sea, a new Confederation, following a large area occupied by the Roman Empire at its peak.

This new Confederation, will dominate the world ...

Great news about the seven years of peace and tranquility without y'all.

In reality, things will be totally different:
“There will be greater anguish in those days than at any time since God created the world. And it will never be so great again.” (Mark 13:19)
This period will end with WWIII...

      @solo said:

Got a date? oh yeah I forgot it's soon right?

The WWIII will be very soon, and, if lower with those 7 years (Tribulation time), you will find that the Rapture has become an imminent event...!

End-of-the-Worlders have always been with us. It doesn't matter whether they are religiously inspired or whether they are of the survivalist variety.

But now, matter very much that there is no a worldwide AUTHORITY (person, institution, government, army , etc.) which can control some possible total destructions...
This means that the whole world, FOR FEAR, will soon establish some global measures, to obtain so-called “peaceful coexistence”.

Basically, it will form a World Government, which can be driven only by a DICTATOR, because whole world excels in libertinism (libertinage)!

What is it about Christians that dwell on Armageddon, death and destruction so much?

Armageddon is a problem for atheists, not for Christians, because Christians will leave the Earth by about seven years before, during the Rapture...

Many eagerly persons ask the question: "When will be the end of the world?!, maybe without knowing even what they want ...!?!

They express the general, stirring expressions like, The Rapture, Tribulation (High Pollution, Excessive Famine, Overall Pestilences, Major Disasters…), Armageddon (WWIII), the End of Human Civilization, the End of the Earth/Terra, the Last/Final Judgement, etc.

Is something plausible in all this array?!
Evolved men, scientists, humanists, illuminists, liberalists, socialists, ecologists, etc., are they in control of the situation?!

Many smokers do not know that, for human body, to DISHABITUATE from something, is needed a period of abstinence for approximately 30 days.

Most people who want to quit smoking, attempts to refrain for several days to 2 weeks, and, because their body does not feel well, due to of the lack of tobacco, they return to the old vice...

Try for 30 days, act with will, and you will not regret it!

So ... we're backing up the claims made in the Bible by using ... the Bible? This has been an interesting discussion, but it seems we've entered the realm of the absurd now. I'm out.

Let us assume that there is no Bible, because many countries do not have it ...!
Let us suppose that we have no consciousness, because many persons ‘violate’ it…!

…But the NATURE remains, and it says a lot…
Since the creation of the world, God’s invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that all of us are without excuse, on our attitude regarding the rejection of the Creator…

Each of us was created with a great potential. All we can come to have incredible achievements, with our God, which is omniscient, omnipotent and all-loving ...!
God sends crisis in our lives to get us out of routine, to snatch us out of a 'rusty' existence, to break up the monotony.
Crisis remove our tasteless living, if we lived smoothly, without difficulties...
Thus, capabilities are brought to light that God has placed in us, and the great opportunities that we have to do special work, valuable both for this life and for eternity.

Crisis also have another positive result: allow to glorify God through our lives - God is "the God OF SALVATION"!

    • RE: Economic Crisis - some advantages?!
      • What output crisis?!
      • First of all, true knowledge and proximity to God!
We believe that we know God well, but we do not realize how superficial we are… Crisis help us to know Him properly, effectively, as He is, making possible the revelation of God in all His glory. Thus, the crisis come to know His wisdom, power, goodness, faithfulness, etc., and we depend on Him more and more.

We have the practice not to hope in the Lord, as long as we rely on other things. Then, crisis occur…, which eliminates any support in our lives, and we only have to turn to Him.
You can have all, in abundance, but, for example when a doctor lets you know that only God can heal you, and prolong your life, all your resources and relationships have no value…

Due to the crisis, we start to obey God's will! Theoretically, we pray "Lord Thy will be done!", and many believers say this as a slogan, especially when things are going well ... Usually we do not change for the better, and not do the will of God because we are given exhortations and lessons…, but when we are in trouble. Then we are open to God, and allow Him to work changes in our lives …!
