      what is the rendering engine?
looks great though, low poly cars would be a big hit with the sketchup crowd.

      it's all good fun Scott.
like you say it will be an interesting test case to see how the building performs over a few decades. will they have some problems with sections rotating and just weld them still? will some leader of the owners association decides they want there view to be constant. a lot of variables both technical and personal.

    • RE: SketchyConferences

Yeah they could serve it up on Google Warehouse. Maybe have a private mode for more sensitive projects. I think we could use some more feedback from some of the power users here that could elaborate on some of the specifics of how that would work.
How did that post get linked there Gai? That looks like the old forum? ❓

    • RE: SketchyConferences

i think it's a good idea, i proposed something like this a couple years ago but got no responses from the forums.

hopefully they way you have it illustrated will get them up and going.

a long time ago, some classmates of mine attempted this with the quake game engine but to no avail. Come on google this is the one thing that no one is doing successfully.

Beautiful work, I still think you should do more of those sailing inspired works as a fine art series.

Maybe Nader is a man of real change but so is my friend who shoes horses for a living, and I think they both have the same chance of making it to the white house.

    • RE: Train Station (WIP)

I actually like the old train station as well. The linear elements work well to the notion of a train's movement. Maybe that's something you could investigate, adding more horizontal elements that could create some idea of movement into the design.

The Governator has done what everyone thought was impossible... Govern California.
I think he would make a good president. Maybe we should change the constitution for him?
I actually like both Obama and McCain. It's funny now how the media is saying McCain is so right wing when for the past 15 years they've been saying how Liberal he is.

Either one of these guys will be a good and welcome change. Both are good people who have overcome adversity in their lives. Adversity always breeds the best in people that overcome it. My vote may come down to a coin flip? Or maybe go with Obama since I'm from Ala'bom'ah.

      @unknownuser said:

At least to me and my peers it seems that christian fundamentalists are slowly but quite steadily growing in power. This may very well widen the divide between the US and the rest of the world even more. Not a good thing. Could cause serious trouble.

We need common ground. And religion ain't gonna be it.

Ideologies, be it political or religious ones, make people go bonkers.

I should preface this by saying that I lost people closest to me when I was very young and since that time I've had a "falling out" so to speak with religion.
It is interesting that you say that because here in the US I think that the Christians take a lot of abuse (mostly comedic shots) and it does seem like their rights to freedom of religion are not being upheld as some others are. Not really a two way street anymore and could be an aid to their potential rise as you describe. The traditions of this country are changing and it seems if you are of another faith your exhibition of your religious celebration are welcome while the christians exhibition is prohibited. I'm sure they are having a hard time with that.

But maybe the things i describe are not politically related.

    • RE: 'Higher IQ=less religous' apparently...

i dunno stinkie, a drunken older Mike isn't that scary. i say take the bottle of jack and knock him out. Then when it comes time for telling the parents about the math grades make note of the fact that hey, you may not be able to calculate an integral but you were able to knock out Mike Tyson.
you know end it on a positive.

Big ass bombs, mishandled food supply & fanatical ideologs are much more scary.

Now if it were Mike circa 1988 then yes that is more scary.
