I feel it should be more like this ... not sure though !
your perspecitve indeed looks more correct than mine
and thanks Pilou! i'll give the plugins a try!

RE: Pile of shale stones
thanks for your kind answer. yes it is the site were the path will go. i have numerous pictures of it, but i still feel the need of modelling the whole thing. I will follow the clues you gave me
As i have to present something to my professor tomorrow i just made a quick photoshop scene with a quick rendered wooddeck. I'm not sure if the perspective is correct for this, but i guess for this early work stadium my prof will be satisfied

Pile of shale stones
hey everyone,
for a project i want to create a scene where a wooden path leads over a pile of shale stones. now i don't know how to create the pile. build every stone? use texture with bump map?
this far i created a landscape with artisan and put the deck over it...but now i'm struggling.the scene should look somehow like this (with the path over the stones)
would be really cool if you guys could give me some hints

RE: Greetings!
no need to apologize...i always love to see images of projects. i think soaking them up will make me a better architect some day

RE: KImbell Art Musem Louis Kahn 1972
maybe when the camera is placed 1 or 2 steps forward it could solve the "problem"? just my noobish point of view

Well Gai, Here an actual project I worked on--but not the designer .
Here is the guesthouse where the owner-artist invites his friends to be a little brave. The shower is the same right to the left of the picture. Must be the wave of the future.is that a photograph or a render?? pleas say its a photo...otherwise i would feel pretty bad with my picture here
For people others than exhibitionists this could be the solution for nighttimes in that kind of rooms

Now I would certainly be embarrassed to sit on a toilet with such big windows...
true,true...
For university i have project deadlines around the end of june. i'm pretty sure that i will get more productive feedback here than from my profs when i post the scenes for the projects.
And of course, thank you for the welcome wishes

Hi, I bumped into this thread by NicolasWeh on the Lumion forum and it made me think of your post:
http://lumion3d.com/forum/gallery/like-an-architectural-contest/I'm unsure you can view this unless you're logged in though...
Here's one of his images, just in case:
[attachment=0:jyybxgyh]<!-- ia0 -->PONENT NOCHE 10.jpg<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:jyybxgyh]i looked up the link in this post and i really like the palm trees he used...can someone tell me how he did them? i would say they are made in photoshop? on the other hand somehow it looks rendered (judging by the 3d'ish optic and the shadows)

RE: Greetings!
to be honest, i didn't think about where that room could be and what it's purpose could be. is just wanted my introduction to look not that naked (and i wanted to play with IES lights)
But i will give this scene some work that i maybe can post it in the gallery

Greetings!
Hello all!
Since i'm new to the forum and already have posted some comments i now feel the need to introduce myself. My name is Carl and i live and study in Erfurt, Germany. I'm currently in the fourth semester of studying Landscape architecture. As you may already have noticed i'm not that good at expressing myself in english but i hope you even so can understand my thoughts.
As not teached in my university i'm still very new to 3d modelling and have to teach it myself using amongst other things this fantastic forum. I started using Sketchup about a year ago now.
For my introduction i made a quick bathroom scene. Made with Sketchup 8 and Maxwell Render standalone plugin. Normally i do outside scenes as being a student in landscape architecture, but i'm so excited about the fact that i can use IES lights now with Maxwell that i created this interior scene. Also i just bought Artisan which resulted in that huge wash-bowl (which almost could run as a bath-tub ). Woman/plant/toilet/cabinet are google warehouse models.
Ok here it is...rendered about 1 1/2 hour to SL 13. still pretty noisy, but i have to get going at another project.I'm really looking forward to learn from you guys.
Greetings
Carl

RE: KImbell Art Musem Louis Kahn 1972
very nice model... the only thing which disturbs me is the flat looking surface of the leather bench.
i hope you guys don't mind if i give comments to pictures in the gallery since i'm pretty much a beginner in 3d modelling and i didn't post a scene myself this far.

RE: How to use emitters in Maxwell Standalone for Sketchup
are there MXM files with IES in the maxwell material gallery? this far i haven't figuered out how to create a spot light with the maxwell standalone sketchup plugin
