the only problem seems to be the import process. once imported i can throw as much xfrog trees in the scene as i want

RE: Lumion + xfrog vegetation
i have to give a heads up here. most of the newer xfrog trees are too big to put them directly into lumion.
i just bought the europe 3 library and figured out that more than 50% are too heavy for lumion.i now have to look for an opportunity to reduce the polycount using blender or something like this.

RE: The making of 2008 BMW E92 M3 GTR
that last render of the m3 is the most beautiful 3d model image of a car i have ever seen

RE: Lumion + xfrog vegetation
i downloaded them as .3ds files and imported them into lumion. i tried to put them in sketchup but after one tree the system dramatically slowed down.
in lumion you can place them in realtime and after let's say 300 trees i didn't feel any slowdown of my machine (i guess with a cheap graphics card there will be a slowdown).
the nice thing besides that is that you can create a library in lumion and you don't have to re-import the trees for another project.

Lumion + xfrog vegetation
hey,
i just discovered the awesomness of lumion, and the possibility to put xfrog trees in my lumion models. so i put together a quick scene of an actual project i'm working on where i have to replant a public park.
the amount of trees and grass in my opinion is mindblowing when you are used to work with components in sketchup and you have to watch every step you take with high detailed trees.do you see a difference between the lumion and xfrog trees?
there has been no post production to this image, pure lumion render. the pathways and the lawn structe will get attention by me later

RE: A commercial and housing architecture project
further explanation: "carrera gt" is the model name of a porsche sportscar.
and as it's price is around 500.000 $ it is not that often see on the roads.

RE: THEA Renders
at the moment i'm just using the free version of lumion where i only have 3 tree models. the 130 xfrog free models now give me the opportunity to extend my usage of the free version before i buy lumion in late 2012.
and i haven't noticed any slowdown by the xfrog trees yet (i have a geforce gtx 670)

RE: THEA Renders
never mind. i just found out that i can download in .3ds and put them directly into lumion
-
RE: THEA Renders
about the xfrog trees: you buy them as .obj format and load them in sketchup? or how do you work with them?
-
RE: A commercial and housing architecture project
i like it too...but the carrera gt's are really disturbing. first in front of a so called green complex and second that they are really rare on the streets, and then two at one spot?

RE: THEA Renders
very very good! i would like to know how you achieved this nice looking vegetation? where did you find theses trees?

RE: Maxwell for sketchup licensed version

RE: Problem with lumion free 2.1 build 1
oh sorry, i was too happy to think of letting you know
first i downloaded the free version from http://lumion3d.be/ where the version you can download is 2.1 . with this version i had the problems. after the staff of lumion told me that i should wait for the next version to solve my problem i was so disappointed that googled up lumion again, and surprise: i ended up on a different homepage http://lumion3d.com/ where the version 2.1 build 3 was offered. (you have to sign up there, which you didn't have to do on the .be site)
i downloaded again and it worked

RE: Problem with lumion free 2.1 build 1

Problem with lumion free 2.1 build 1
hey,
i wanted to try the lumion free version and installed it without any errors, but whilst starting it this messages appear:
"XMLDOMCommand.ll" -> "Ok"
"Channel not found in installation skipping load routine" -> "Ok"
and after that a message with something that looks like a product key and i can't enter the programm.
does someone know what i'm doing wrong?

RE: Greetings!
i've seen this before...when i would see that somebody enters this i would post myself infront of it and perform something like this ->

RE: SWIMMING POOL ... sketchup in Lumion + simple animation
i have to say, i really really like the look of lumion renders and that is one nice looking pool i would love to jump in right now
may i ask where this is located? i'm asking because in germany you wouldn't be allowed to build the stairway in the first picture. you would need fall protection on the left side as it's obviously higher than 90 cm. yeah this is germany..you have regulations for everything

RE: Coffeehouse
thank you! first i wasn't sure if the columns would go with the rectangular design of the building but in the meantime i couldn't picture the building without them
-
Coffeehouse
hey all,
in this picture you can see a coffeehouse in a spa garden located next to a small river. in the terrace there is a bridge which leads over the river. with the columns i want to symbolize birch trunks as there are many birches to be planted in the garden.
next step will be to put vegetation in the background.
is there anything you would change?
P.S.: model made in sketchup 8 and rendered with maxwell standalone plugin. persons and gras in foreground added in photoshop.

RE: Final Project: Architecture - Urbanization + Apart.Building
overall nice project, but on the first two pictures three things are really disturbing me.
-
the paving needs a curb.
-
for the ground concrete texture you really should use something that is tileable.
-
the car is out of scale.
