      Lol 🀣

Personally, I don't know what I'd do withiut plugins. I am used to automations, coming from ArchiCAD, and all of the plugins I use ease the workflow while making design. I love, in this matter, the delete coplanar edges plugin, I just looooooove it.

As you may know, I am italian, and as far as I know one of the few who has an updated blog in Sketchup in Italian. Here in Italy SU is used only to Sketch (when it is used at all), only because plugins are all in english and people will not bother to investigate more.

What I try to do in my blog, is to tell people that there is a very easy way to do things. But it seems people won't listen to me 😞

I just discovered that the erase function hides and smoothes edges if you use it in combination with atl ctrl an shift...

    • Cast Iron Radiator (or why I love Sketchup!)

I really this software, because in a couple of hours it let do this:

      http://www.3dita.it/objects/radiator2.jpg

starting from one reference photo πŸ˜„

This is a cast iron radiator, I'll have to use in an interior renovation I have to render. The models in the warehouse weren't that good, so I put a little effort into making it myself.

I like it so much I'm sharing it with everyone here on the forum πŸ˜„

      Enjoy πŸ˜„

      Dear Carlo,
your job is amazing, also considering you are using this technology in Italy, my home country too. This goes to demonstrate that SU is a complete professional software and it can get you great results. There is not "only" autocad and 3d studio max!!

Thanks for posting this, It really gave me something to think about!

I second this. The material editor for the mac version works really clumsily. Nowher near as good as the windows version

    • RE: The "Duh!" thread (aka the Doh! thread)

      my duh moment:

when you rotate something, and you touch the rotation tool that appears on screen, the rotation will snap on the simbols of the rotation tool.

If you change the rotation snaps, the rotation tool changes consequently.

      very, very duh

    • RE: Some Artlantis works

Those are some really nice renders with Artlantis. I read that version 3 is out and about, so I will have to try it.

Version 2 is a great step forward from version 1.2.

I think I'll post some of my results here, if you like.

As per your images, they look really good, but 3d people give them away. In artlantis, I prefer rendering only the scene, and adding people in PS.

the second one is very well done, the grass looks awesome too.

In the first one, the grass on the foreground should be Photoshopped a bit, but the rest looks very very good πŸ˜„

      Nice work!

    • RE: Ati o nvidia

I have an Imac with ATI HD 2600 pro, and in Mac osx Sketchup works very well. In the windows partition, however, Sketchup is really really really slow... I would really like to change my Ati with an Nvidia card.

Can you tell me what are the problems with Sketchup on your Mac? Maybe I can help you.

      http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=19912
