Ok TIG I understand.....I just said "group" because I don't use neither the SUpro import nor external plugin, I'm using mine importer: it return to me a group with all the dxf drawing. I used your technique (sustituting the group to the componenet.definition) and it works fine..

@djskippy said: Hi Bomastudio, Some time ago I've written an export script from Sketchup to Gmsh. Sketchup Groups are exported as Volumes in Gmsh Sketchup Faces are exported as plane surfaces in Gmsh Sketchup Edges are exported as lines in Gmsh Sketchup Vertices are exported as points in Gmsh The script handles nested groups and applies all transformations to the points in Gmsh Inner faces are exported correctly. It even exports text entered in Sketchup (not 3D text). The only thing this script doesn't do is: Export circles and arc's as Gmsh circles, it now just exports them as lines and points (that's how Sketchup see's them). To correct this you'll need to take a look a IGES_EXPORT and how it exports circles, cylinders and cones. Thanks!!!!! I was looking for this plugin for a long long time!!!!

Too many variables. How would you for instance determine a harddrive's interface speed, and whether the write cache is on? If you want worstcase, then you could use old PATA speed of 33Mb/s, but most newer computers will have PATA of 100Mb/s. If the computer is late model, and has a SATA drive, the speeds can be up in the 3 .. 6 Gb/s range. So.. the easiest way would be to have the user fill in a WebDialog form for this info. They you would multiply width x height in pixels, by say 24bits each to get a approximate size for the image (if a BMP,) then divide by the interface speed. Estimating compressed format sizes (like GIF and JPEG,) will be much harder, but you might be able find some equations out on the web. (Then of course, there is extra processing time for the image to be compressed.) Sketchup uses PaintLib, an Open Source library. Perhaps there are some speed data on the PaintLib author's website?

No.. you cannot intercept the call. It is hard-coded into the Sketchup application on the C++ side, not on the Ruby side.

You can also find TIG's update of the Delaunay ruby here -- though I don't think the changes have anything to do with the math: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=34232 Best, Jason.

BIM addicts, my friends and I just rolled out the SketchUpBIM plugin. It's similar to the discussion on this forum - it provides simple tools to create grids, floors, and all common structural engineering and architectural primitives like walls, columns, beams, slabs and openings! We have utilized a lot of our knowledge of popular BIM products (like REVIT) and tried to follow the same methodology and process-flows. and yes, it's in English and Mac compatible check it out here: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=41840 and please leave feedback and comments! Dex b/w bomastudio - very interesting work I would love to download an english version as well!
