I know Baz, people often ask for vids rather than gifs, but vids are a pain. You have to record them then upload them to youtube with all that that involves then paste the link back here with the right bb code.
Gifs, make em, drag to screen, done.I wonder if there is a way to 'pause/step back' with Gifs?

I much prefer this to the Gifs. Easy to step back when I miss one of your moves. Cheers.

RE: Tiny House Attempt
For my TH, quite a bit of research went into the stairs..
I started with the Japenese Tansu Stair thing...loving the storage.
Then my timber take on a Ships Stair... tempting.
And then what I actually built was normal stairs. I def wanted the storage and I def didn't mind not having to instruct bloody people how to climb stairs. And storage to spare.
(182mm riser, 300mm go and a kosher handrail. And Legal in Oz for good reasons. (Except for the width, the regs require 900/1000mm min. My stairs are legal for storage access).

RE: Tiny House Attempt
I have been living in my TH for nearly 5yrs now. Very happily. I thought I might share this cool way of living with others.
But I have learnt several things in this time.
A. Dont bother engaging with FB groups to share. 50% wannabees, 40% wankers, 10% shysters.
B. Dont engage with commercial builders of TH's. Mostly greedy bastards who dont give a shit. And have only basic skills not suited to a TH barrelling down the road at 80klm
C. I could go on but I've lost interest.
D. Put me down as a nihilist.
E. Make sure you have an oven. And a deck.

Nice. I am tempted to print,(2d), a couple out and hang em on a stick.

RE: Monitors
Screens are hard enough on your eyes already without having to deal with dissimilar resolutions, refresh rates, colour casts etc.
Oh well its your eyes.
And I do agree one large screen might be better than two small ones -
RE: Monitors
Ideally both monitors should be exactly the same, including age.
Two different ones will never have the same qualities, IE colour cast etc. As for brand I couldn't say. (I have two 22" Benq's).
Set up is easy. (Settings/Display/Multiple Displays, etc).

RE: Somewhere cool (render)
Li am, IMHO the texturing and detail are great, but in the real world things would not be so perfect. EG: The Aircon units would not line up so perfectly or all be level. The downpipes would be a bit wonky. Door frames ditto. And I would rotate and scale the trees a bit. A few people would help bring it to life as well. (And now the car is becoming the focal point

RE: Amateur dramatics. Set design. Black Adder, WW1.
Thanks chaps, glad you like it. I think there is a lot to be said for quick and dirty modelling.

Amateur dramatics. Set design. Black Adder, WW1.
I got caught up with a local drama society last year. They had never seen SU or any 3D Vis before at all. All very impressed. Esp the 'Director' who was able to see the 'what is to be' space.
First thing of course, was to model the theatre itself, which as a Component is ready for future productions. All accurate to 20mm.
I physically built the set as well. (With fridge cartons and a bit of 70x19mm). [Or 3 1/2" x 3/4" for the odd countries.]
Sorry, me too lazy to extract the images from the PDF, go for it if you wish.

RE: Rant one. USB ports.
What I don't understand is why couldn't they all jump on a simple standard? (Screen denotes up, perhaps)?
And here be madness, I have two HTC devices. Their ports are opposite!
Cheers. -
Rant one. USB ports.
Really? Is it that difficult to align the insertion of a USB plug into its socket in a consistent world manner?
Totally ridicorous.

RE: Perhaps a 'Duh' question?
Thankee Box.
Went down a rabbit hole but found it. -
Perhaps a 'Duh' question?
Is there a keyboard shortcut for 'Update Scene'?
I'll be buggered if I can find one. -
Shadow Study.
I present this shadow study as an example where very simple, but accurate, modelling can give you valuable on-site data.
