Well done to your USA. Proud of you.
And I would like to share these real life shadow studies.

I know I will prob have a doh moment here, but I cant find my 'Drafts'?
Baz
Oh bloody hell. I know what I will be trying to do this Xmas...
Merry Whatsit Box to you and family,(including here).
Cheers. Baz
So seven months and about sixty five grand later I am living in my tiny house.
Had to move before it was completely finished because my mate was selling his property. But quite civilised with heating, hot water, cooking etc.
And at the moment in a caravan park while I find somewhere more permanent.
As usual SU was essential.
Main Dims: 7500 length x 2950 width x 3250 height mm.
Here is how it is now...
... doesn't come close to the actual of course.
My two bobs worth: I would bring the brackets by the double opening as close together as possible, the span at present seems too wide. And possibly add another.
I would beef up the right angle corners of the brackets as well, there will be a large amount of lateral force on that joint.
The access stairs worry me, are they removable? I wouldn't like to see a party up there
Reload only works on components. So save the contents of a file as a component.
A component doesn't save views styles etc, only entities.
A few years ago I was asked by a client to model a set of plans for a very large maintenance facility at an oil refinery, just for presentation to the men in suits, you understand.
The model revealed that the gantry crane rails would collide with one of the huge roller doors.
When informed the architects called BS, they said SU was a toy. I had to go visit and show them on my laptop, they were not happy.
I probably saved them a hundred grand, it would have been a huge cockup.
Never got a thank you from them but the client insisted on models from me from then on.
Might be a bit obvious but have you tried a cold reboot? Everything off, puters, lappies, modems, wifi etc (inc. phone).
Wait a couple of mins and start up again. Worth a try...
I remember this post from 9 years ago, such great work. I don't, however, remember the Logos being there then, how curious.
At present not possible as far as I can see, needs a clever script writer perhaps.
Do you have more than one viewport on a page? If so you can select all the viewports and render them as one. But you probably knew that...
You can use the Style dropper to sample a previous viewport setting as well, might save a bit of time...
And if you click on the next page even while the 'Wait' doughnut is circling, it will go there eventually, bit more of a visual clue if your attention wanders...

Pretty neat little pad Baz, did you laminate those two handrails to get the curve in them?
Yes and the rafters.

Hey Baz, I'd love seeing your workspace
Hi Joe. Just a shed now with basic gear. I got rid of most of the stuff when I moved to the country for my retirement. Nice spot tho.
This is the house, not the shed

If those pictures are not tempered with you could use in eg. second one and go with Matched Photo to get base and overall shape and then use Vertex tools and SubD to get smooth transitions.
Thanks. Interesting.

My curve is a Bezier Nurbs curve so can have any path on the 3D Space!
So using my images for reference how would you get the path to follow them exactly?
Hi Pilou, your example has everything on one plane, look at my Gif, totally three dimensional.

Hanging out to see what you have done...Could you re-post with SU V2019? Thanks.

Here's a super quickie.
This is just a random bunch of straight lines, I used it for follow me of a square.
SUbD will then make it nice and smooth. This is without any extra manipulation. Quad face tools and Vertex tools just help you manipulate it and add edges etc. Start with something simple and see what you can do, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it, something will just click.
Thanks Box. Ok, I will look for a 'Dummies' tutorial and try again.

Ideal for Vertex Tools and SubD.
Don't have time just now to demo but a good time for you to learn VT, SUbD and QFT.
I was afraid you would say that. I gave VT and SubD a good run last year, inc. following tutorials step by step. I've even tried to reproduce some of your Gif tuts, they never come out right. My brain can't seem to get it.
Now I have a bit of time, I have returned to my first loves, carving and sculpture.
I am curious as to how you guys might approach modelling these 'sticks' accurately.
I can get approximations with Shapebender but my results are very clumsy.
Tis no biggie, but it would be great to see them 'real' in SU.
Cheers.
